Dynamic Catholic, Alive!

Trust in the Lord

Three times in the Gospel today, our Lord tells the disci-ples that they should not be afraid. This phrase and re-lated variants occur in Scripture more than any other phrase. We all struggle with worrying and being fearful about many aspects of our lives, but Christ reminds us to trust in Him and His abundant love for us. We have been adopted as sons and daughters of God by the death and Resurrection of Christ. We can live a new life in hopeful confidence that God will provide for our needs and care for us as the loving Father who desires “all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timo-thy 2:4). archstl.org/dynamic

Word of Life

“Through our prayers and through the intercession of St. Joseph, patron of fathers, may fathers come to know the irreplaceable role they hold in the lives of their children, and the responsibility they share in welcoming God’s gift of new life! USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities “Pray for Life: June 2020” quoting Most Reverend Fabre, Bishop of Houma-Thibodaux

1 PSR Teacher Still Needed!

Please consider being a Teacher St. James PSR is still in need of one more PSR Teacher for the 2020-2021 School Year:

-2nd Grade PSR Teacher

This is a very rewarding way to give back to your Church! No previous experience necessary but you must meet the Archdiocese Safe Environment policies! Contact Matt Farr, Child Safety Coordinator, with any questions or for further assis-tance at: [email protected] or 573-854-3803.

FAMILY VOCATION CHALICE

In this time of “social distancing”, when we have been restricted from the privilege of physically attending Mass, here’s another opportunity to strengthen our faith and relationship with Jesus. We are spending so much more time together, eating meals together, children outside playing more, game nights, etc. Let’s add some FAMILY PRAYER time togeth-er. sign up for a week with our Family Vocation Chalice. It is a wonder-ful way for our families to learn the power of praying together. There are prayers in the book that accompany the chalice. It is easy to do and your family will be blessed by praying together or individually. A sign up sheet is in the back of church.

Mass Guidelines update:

As of June 22, 2020 **Holy Communion for the home-bound can resume with safety measures in place including the use of masks, sanitizer and adhering to social distancing. -The Eucharistic minister must wear a mask at all times. - Communicants should wear masks, with the exception of the moment of re-ceiving Holy Communion. -Hand sanitizer should be present and used in the event of any contact. -Social distancing should be adhered to in all cases outside of distributing Holy Communion

**Holy Communion can now be offered in the hand or on the tongue. Holy Communion distributed by extraordinary ministers will be administered in the hand only. We strongly recommend that parishioners receive Holy Communion in the hand, however, as this is a celebration of God’s love for us and the most important part of our Mass, parishioners who still wish to receive Holy Communion on the tongue must receive from the Mass cele-brant only. We must continue practicing Social distancing rules. Please keep this in mind when planning to attend mass. If you are able, attending weekday mass would be a good option. Live Streaming of the Mass, St. James website and Facebook page June 28th, 10:00 am Mass. http://stjamespotosi.org (webpage) Follow us on Facebook We hope to schedule first communion, confirmation very soon. Dates to be determined. Please bear with us as we are still dealing with the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis WELCOMES

Archbishop - Elect Mitchell T. Rozanski

As Tenth Archbishop of St. Louis

Archbishop Carlson is retiring and Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will be our new leader. Installation will be Aug 25th. More to come in the following weeks. Archbishop Rozanski’s Episcopal motto: “Serve the Lord with Gladness”. It means having the joy and the peace of the Lord in our hearts. It “Encompasses being his people and being happy, being joyful as we serve the Lord and others.” Go to www.archstl.org to watch the full press release.

Annual Catholic Appeal This weekend we celebrate and honor our fathers, living and de-ceased. They are a reflection of the strength and steadfast love of God our Father. We share our gratitude for them as we look for-

ward to returning to a more regular experience of our families and friends and a more routine schedule of activities and sacramental

celebrations at our parish. You are invited once again to participate in the Annual Catholic

Appeal by making a gift. If your circumstance permit and your fam-ily is blessed with good health and employment, please consider

increasing your gift to make up for those who are unable to make a gift at this time. Your gift will help many who have been impacted

by the Covid-19 outbreak in our archdiocese. As one Body, we make sacrifices for others, not because they are Catholic, but be-

cause We Are Catholic! For more information and to donate on line, go to aca.archstl.org

To our Father’s out there, may God Bless you all abun-dantly.
