Fr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s Korner Archbishop Lori is visiting our parish next

weekend and celebrating the 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday 24 November. He will also be staying for coffee and donuts to speak with parishioners after Mass-- so those who attend the 11:00 Mass are invited to come early for Mass if you would like a chance to speak with the Archbishop during coffee and donuts next weekend. Pope Francis often speaks about opportunities to care for the needy, and this weekend offers us many. Our poor box offering is dedicated to aid the relief effort in the Philippines through Catholic Relief Services., and our Christmas Basket program sign-up is starting after Mass. In addition, The Knights of Columbus are conducting their annual tootsie roll campaign outside after Mass, which benefits people with disabilities. The second collection this weekend is for the Campaign for Human Development, a very effective program of the US Bishops funding self-help projects among the poor across our country. And a bulletin insert invites you to bring items for the cold weather shelter to Mass next weekend. This is a faith community that really cares! You'll notice some new trees have been planted on our property perimeter. We border Tuscarora Creek, and the Potomac Conservancy is an organization that funds projects to plant trees along waterways that feed into the Potomac River. The Potomac Conservancy provided the trees, and they were planted by a joint effort of Saint John's School students (led by Paul Fer) and our parishioners Jerry Hamilla and Pat Christoff, who were coordinated by Tom Hornyak and our Property Management Committee. Thanks to all who helped! Next weekend on Saturday I will be in Baltimore for the wedding of one of my goddaughters, so we welcome Fr. Mike Heine to preside at Mass once again. Don't forget your items for the cold weather shelter!

Frederick through a coalition of area Catholic churches. With the current economy, SVDP has more people seeking assistance with fewer funds with which to help. SVDP depends totally on the generous contributions of the five supporting Catholic parishes to operate. If you find that you are

able to increase your donation to the Poor Box, the needy of our county will be appreciative.
