of our $50,000 goal and payments totaling $44,312.00 from 134 parishioners. This

16 June, 2019 – The Most Holy Trinity

“But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth...” (John 16:13)

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us know and live the truth. To prepare ourselves, we need to open our hearts to receive this gift before we can give it. Develop a daily prayer routine. Talk and listen to the Holy Spirit. This is best done in silence, when we can hear His re-sponse.

Happy Father’s Day!

We extend to all our fathers and those expecting for the first time, a Happy and Blessed Father’s Day. We also remember all our beloved fathers who are no longer with us on earth, but forever in our hearts.

“For kindness to a father will not be forgotten”

Sirach 4:14

marred by sin, redeemed in love, called now to an eternal destiny and capable of the infi-nite. To have an “obscure” faith is not to have a vague notion of God or to believe in a God we have created and who happens to agree with our own opinions and beliefs. It is to have a faith in a God Who both tells us Who He Is and shows us who He Is. and in-vites us to surrender ourselves to Him in a relationship characterized by steadfastness, confidence, but one in which we will not al-ways see things clearly, understand perfectly, or have it all figured it. We simply cannot solve this mystery in one sitting or less, or tame God. Faith in the One and Triune God will always ask us to be open to wonder and awe, and leave a little room in our lives for the mystery of divine love, present and ac-tive in the world and in the hearts of believ-ers, to unfold according to its own loving de-sign. This feast is not about solving a mys-tery, but about living it.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

A Reflection from Msgr. Celano on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

"Faith includes steadfastness, confidence, and devotion, but also obscurity." B. XVI "Mary: The Church At It's Source" Most of us love a good mystery. The popularity of mystery novels and TV series attest to this. However, to be more precise, most of us love solving a good mystery. Did the butler do it? And we want to do it in one sitting or less. That's the reason most preachers squirm a little bit today. How do we "explain" God as God is? How do we "solve" this mystery of the One and Triune God? We don't, and we need to remember that… God is One. God is Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one in substance and yet distinct in Persons. This is the faith of the Church. This is also mystery. Yet this same God, ever close to us and yet ever be-yond us, makes Himself known in history, drawing us into communion with Himself, showing us Who He is, and, as a result, who we are. God shows the human person him-self – creatures formed in the divine image,

COMMUNITY ROUNDUP

The following events are from the local community.

Sometimes, babies are born alive after an at-tempted abortion. Some are then left alone to die or are killed. We need stronger laws to protect these babies from infanticide. A bill to provide stronger protections, the “Born Alive Survivors Protection Act”, is being blocked in the U.S. House of Representatives. 199 Repre-sentatives have signed a discharge petition to force a vote on the bill, but 19 more Representa-tives must sign the petition to force a vote. 45 U.S. Representatives have been identified as po-tentially persuadable to support the petition if enough of their constitutions urge them to sign it. One or more of those Members represent OUR Diocese/State and they need to hear from us and their other constituents! Here is how you can tell our Representatives that any child born alive following an abortion attempt should receive the same degree of care that would be given to another child born at the same age:

Do you pray with confidence? Do you pray as if the God of the Universe hears you, loves you, and wants nothing more than to be with you in this life and forev-er in the next? You pay God a compliment when you ask great things of Him. St. Teresa of Avila
