Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

At times we all have been in situations where we wish we would have been able to respond in different ways to the events of our lives. There is no one way to live. We are all individuals with our own set of gifts and talents. We all also have our own set of challenges. I was given the following and thought that it is a good starting point for us to begin to respond to the events and occurrences in our lives

instead of just reacting to them.

7 RULES OF LIFE

1. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR PAST so it won’t disturb your future.

2. WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF YOU is none of your business.

3. THE ONLY PERSON IN CHARGE of your happiness is you.

4. DON’T COMPARE YOUR LIFE TO others. Comparison is the thief of joy.

5. TIME HEALS ALMOST EVERYTHING. Give it time.

6. STOP THINKING SO MUCH. It’s alright not to know the answer.

7. SMILE. You don’t own all the problems in the world.

I would add the following.

8. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. Healthy eating and exercise relieves stress.

9. TAKE TIME FOR SILENCE. Being busy and noisy all day drains all our energy.

10. PRAY DAILY. When we connect with God in our lives, we never walk alone.

Estimados Hermanos/as en Cristo,

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,

1. ZRÓB SPOKÓJ Z PRZESZŁOŚCIĄ, aby nie zakłóciła przyszłości.

2. CO INNI MYŚLĄ O TOBIE to nie twoja sprawa.

3. JEDYNA OSOBA ODPOWIEDZIALNA za twoje szczęście to ty.

4. NIE PORÓWNÓJ SKOJEGO ŻYCIA z innym. Porównywanie jest złodziejem radości.

5. CZAS GOI PRAWIE WSZYSTKO. Daj temu czas.

6. PRZESTAŃ MYŚLEĆ ZA DUŻO. Jest w porządku nie znać odpowiedzi.

7. UŚMIECHNIJ SIĘ. Nie posiadasz wszystkich problemów na świecie.

Chciałbym dodać następujące.

8. ZADBAJ O SIEBIE. Zdrowe odżywianie i ćwiczenia łagodzą stres.

9. ZABIERZ CZAS NA CHWILĘ CISZY. Bycie zajętym i hałaśliwym przez cały dzień odprowadza całą naszą energię.

10. MÓDL SIĘ CODZIENNIE. Kiedy łączymy się z Bogiem w naszym życiu, nigdy nie chodzimy sami.

TODAY’S READINGS

First Reading — Rejoice heartily, O Jerusalem! For see, your savior comes (Zechariah 9:9-10).

Psalm — I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God (Psalm 145).

Second Reading — The one who raised Christ from death will give life to your mortal bodies also

(Romans 8:9, 11-13).Gospel — Come, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will

give you rest (Matthew 11:25-30).

A Humble KingLike a tonal center in music, the note to which we keep

returning in today’s readings is humility. We wait in joyful expectation for the coming of our Lord as King. But what

we are told to expect and rejoice over is a meek and humble king, riding on an ass. Not horses or chariots of

the great and mighty, but a humble beast carries the Ruler whose dominion stretches “from the River to the ends of the earth” (Zechariah 9:10). This King comes to banish

the tools of the warrior and bring peace. No wonder that a weary world rejoices and gives thanks to God!

FOOD OF THE MONTH CLUB

At a date to be announced later, sometime toward the end of July, the St. Vincent De Paul Society is going to host our Annual Back

to School Distribution, where we distribute all types of school supplies to all the students of our Parish. We will be purchasing and distributing every imaginable school item that our children

need to be successful students in the coming year. This distribution is open to every child in the parish. Last year it was a

very successful event, and we hope to serve all of our parishioners again this year.

In light of this upcoming event, instead of asking for donations of food during the months of June and July, we are asking for your

help with donations of the following items.

PENSPENCILS

LOOSE LEAF PAPER

If you don’t feel like shopping for school supplies, but would like to help with a monetary contribution, we have envelopes in the back of the church labeled with the Back to School Distribution. You may place your contribution in the envelope and put it in the

St. Vincent De Paul box located in the vestibule directly above the box for the donations of food.

Your school supply donations can be placed in the box in the vestibule where you normally put your food donations, or they can

be taken to the Rectory during normal business hours.

Thank you for your constant and continued generosity. May God Bless you for all that you do.

for the AnnualSt Vincent De Paul Back to School Distribution

Once again this year, we will be holding our Annual Back to School Distribution of much needed school supplies. We realize that you just started your summer vacation, and you don't want to think about school, but it's going to happen, for some of you in August, and we

would like to help you obtain some of the many items that you will need for a successful school year.

Once upon a time, in the "olden days", back to school supplies consisted of pencils, a notebooks, a Ruler and a Mickey Mouse lunchbox. Not Any More! Some of these lists require a major overhaul of the family budget.

THE BACK TO SCHOOL DISTRIBUTION IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS, GRAMMAR SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL, WHO ARE MEMBERS OF ST. TURIBIUS PARISH. I'm sure that all of you who attended last year's distribution can remember what a fun night it

was shopping for school supplies in the Church basement.

ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST WITH THEM, AND MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AT LEAST ONE OF YOUR PARENTS. PLEASE BRING YOUR LIST, AND ONE OF YOUR PARENTS TO THE

FELICIAN HALLWEDNESDAY, JULY 19TH

heal and to save it.

Accept with the benevolence of a Mother this act of entrustment that we make in faith today, before this your image, beloved to us. We are certain that each one of us is precious in your eyes and that nothing in our hearts has estranged you. May we allow your sweet gaze to reach us and

the perpetual warmth of your smile.

Guard our life with your embrace; bless and strengthen every desire for good; give new life and nourishment to faith; sustain and enlighten hope; awaken and animate charity; guide us all on the

path to holiness.

Teach us your own special love for the little and the poor, for the excluded and the suffering, for sinners and the wounded of heart. Gather all people under your protection and give us all to your

beloved Son, our Lord Jesus. Amen.

The Morning Rosary Group of St. Turibius Parish is extending an invitation to all parishioners to join us in the recitation of the rosary celebra-ting the 100th Anniversary of the Apparition of Fatima in 1917. The rosary will be said

on the 13th of July, August, September and October of 2017 at 6:00 PM in church.

On August 19, 1917, Our Lady of the Rosary asked “I want you to continue praying the Rosary every day”.

The Morning Rosary Group has been saying the rosary in church for the past 43+ years after the weekday morning Mass. Please join us as we continue to follow Our Lady of

the Rosary’s request.

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
