Steinbeis University is the largest private university in Germany. It is a subsidiary of the globally active Steinbeis Foundation, which stands for knowledge transfer and innovation at the interface between science and business. And the university is a pioneer! This is where the transfer study program was developed, which is a world-wide unique study model.

Your Alma Mater The Steinbeis School of Management and Innovation is a business school at Steinbeis University. SMI is responsible for all content of the study programs according to the study and examination regulations and implements the study program. Students receive their degree from Steinbeis University Berlin. Part of SMI is also a Graduate Technology and Engi-neering School, focusing on new tech like Industry 4.0. Since 1998, Steinbeis University has been officially recognized as a private university. In the fields of Business & Economics, Leadership & Management and Technology & Engineering it offers Bachelor, Master and MBA programs as well as research and doctoral programs. No matter how different the respective programs may be, they are all essentially based on the ideas and way of thinking of Ferdinand von Steinbeis - the inventor of dual education.

The principles of the university to which we strongly commit: Maximally practice-oriented, customer-oriented and entrepreneurial.

What drives us? Innovation, research and knowledge transfer: Steinbeis University takes a transfer-oriented approach on research and teaching. The foundation is a systematic, practice-induced creation of our own research resources. In this way, we provide our students not only with the basics and methodology, but also with up-to-date knowledge from research results.

Equipped for the challenges of today’s world Our students develop solutions to problems based on ideas in a real environment. This requires them to apply, develop and expand their skills systematically at various levels. In this way, our students learn what will make them outstanding to be able to act competently and innovatively in a world that constantly challenges them anew in different ways with ever more dynamic changes.

Learning for life. Studying for life. Every project that our students carry out during their studies brings them one step closer to the ideal we strive for: a personality that is comprehensively educated in theory and practice. Moreover, all business students have a wide range of opportunities to enrich their studies with the tech-nology that shapes the 21st century: from bite-sized techfocused mini degrees to an entire Business Engineering course of study.

We build truly student- centric learning experiences for tomorrow’s leaders … … equipping the next generation of committed learners with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed amid the challenges of the 21st century.

We use leading-edge technology to enable seamless student journeys that both meet and exceed the needs of modern learners.

We embrace and pioneer new educational formats – from ‘snackable’ asynchronous mini-courses to AR- and VR- driven experiences and even gamified study programs!

We’ve built the world’s first online study configurator, giving students the power to design a program that fits their schedule and ambitions. Whether the goal is a bachelor’s or a master’s, to study remotely or in-person, part-time or full-time, the configurator makes it easy to find a range of programs and formats to choose from.

Technology & Innovation

Flexibility & Customization

Openness & Curation

We’ve developed an agile curriculum setup that allows us to respond in real time to industry developments, introducing fresh academic content on demand. Drawing from our net-work of industry experts as well as the Open Online Courses

(MOOCs) that meet our acade-mic standards, we offer an up-to-the-minute course selection that evolves as you do.

Mission

1414

Bridging classroom and industry

Since the early 1980s, we’ve been working closely with some of the biggest names in German innovation – not only have their experts lectured regularly in our classrooms, our students frequently participate in projects and internships on their premises, many going on to become highly valued employees.

The advantages of the dual education system pioneered by Ferdinand von Steinbeis have demonstrated themselves time and again over the past four decades: students profit

immensely from opportunities to put theory learned in the classroom into practice in the real world, gaining hands-on experience in the workplace, which boosts their resumes and eases the transition from school to career. Industry partners, for their part, not only bring the latest insights and research findings into the classroom, ensuring the curriculum stays relevant, but learn how tomorrow’s leaders think and perceive the world, gathering insights for the breakthrough innovations that will shape the future.
