John was a success in his business. Putin long hours. It helped him financially butsocially it didn’t help at all.

His business and the hours he worked, pretty much messed up any social items. He was always on time in business ven-tures but socially there was no time-clockin his brain. Never showed up on time;usually an hour or two late and in somecases never even showed. Always apolo-gized but two days after the fact? The wordwas out that a date with him was wait orforget.

He met punctual Rose a very popular galwho also had a fetish for dates being ontime and even looking just the right wayfor her tastes. This was at a mutual friend’sparty where most of the people were leav-ing when he came in.

They impressed each other enough that

John suggested that they meet for lunch. She showed up on time, he came in aboutan hour later, and was surprised that Rosehad already eaten and left. He called Roseto ask why she had stood him up and Rosebluntly told him that she wasn’t waiting foranyone for lunch.

They showed on time or she was gone.John apologized and said he would be ontime if she had dinner with him. This timehe showed up on time but was a day late.

He tried calling her up but she refused toeven talk to him. After a dozen calls shefinally spoke to him and explained that forsome stupid reason she’d like to get togeth-er with him but on her terms.

One more chance. John then suggestedthat they might take a three-day boat tripwhere he had to be on time or the boat wasgone, her answer was, “Pick me up at myapartment and take me to the boat ontime.”

Most amazingly John came on time notone minute late and they went on the three-day boat trip. John was attentive and activeand they enjoyed the experience.

Two weeks later punctual Rose discov-ered ... she was late.

Voters let their voices beheard in Miami-Dade’smayoral recall election – butmaybe right here in SunnyIsles Beach there should berecall elections with itemson the ballot like these:

TToooo SSmmaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! If you thinkspaces in many parking lots are so small, youhave to climb out your sunroof or wait forthe car next to you to pull out to get out.

MMaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! If you holdmalls and other stores responsible for put-ting you in debt by holding too many goodsales and tempting you with new arrivalsof totally irresistible shoes. (Or at leastvote in favor of opening consolidatedcredit kiosks)

SSttaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! If you thinkpublic restrooms should all be staffed withattendants making sure they’re spotless –plus offering perks like complimentary toi-letries or checks for wardrobe malfunc-tions and paper trails.

FFaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! If you think the

supermarket should stop placing stackedup bottles and boxes where they’re boundto fall over and make you feel reallyembarrassed for accidentally hitting themwith your shopping cart. And while you’reat it, vote YES! to recall all taste testedand/or squeezed too hard produce.

FFoooottbbaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! if you thinkthere should be a recall of everyone in theNFL not preventing a lockout that could bevery detrimental to local sports bars, beersales, pizza deliveries and women whomight have to give up their free time tohangout with bored guys on Sundays.

HHaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! if you thinkthere should be a recall on condo bylawsallowing cooking aromas to permeatehallways (unless your neighbor makessomething really good and invites you fordinner)

TTaallll RReeccaallll:: Vote YES! if you think arule stating future mayoral candidateshave to be tall is ridiculous - and thenvote YES! Again if you think qualifica-tions should include honesty, integrity andefficiency – traits lending the higheststature to the Sunny Isles Beach CityCommission.

NO DOGS ON THE BEACH!EEnnhhaanncceedd PPaattrrooll aanndd EEnnffoorrcceemmeenntt ooff CCooddee VViioollaattiioonnss TToo TTaakkee PPllaaccee IImmmmeeddiiaatteellyy

Due to the rising number of complaints and observed violations of persons walking their dogson the beach and in some cases allowing them to run free, unleashed, on the beach, enhancedpatrol and enforcement of violations are being stepped up. Unfortunately, most of our violatorsare our own residents who know better.

There are a host of reasons, including sanitary and safety, that this law and ordinance is in effectand has been in effect since the incorporation of our city. This is NOT NEW! However certain peo-ple refuse to utilize their own designated areas and use the beaches instead for their dogs.

When complaints are received and violations are observed, the police and code enforcementofficers and ocean rescue personnel are forced to act because it is a VIOLATION! It is sad tohear of the disrespect and confrontational attitude of the people who are in violation, in the man-ner that they respond to the officials who are doing their jobs to prevent the violations. Thebeaches are a resource of the city that needs to be kept clean and safe for EVERYONE. Pleasedo your part and walk your dogs in the areas you know are designated for such, especially onyour buildings’ property. If the building fails to provide area for such, then bring it to the atten-tion of the board, because there are

NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE BEACH!CITY ORDINANCE: RULE 11. DOMESTIC ANIMALS

Since food is one of my favorite thingsin the whole wide world, I am always onthe outlook for new, interesting, exciting, and outrageous. It can come in the form ofa restaurant, a grocery store, a gourmetshop, an ingredient, a meal, a snack, adessert...you get the drift. If it has to dowith anything edible, I want to check it out.

That is why I constantly patrol myneighborhood. I go into Publix and look forthings I haven’t eaten before (believe it ornot I just ate Athenos Greek Honey yogurtfor the first the other day - delicious). I praydaily that new restaurants will have filledthe vacant spaces of eateries that havecome and gone, and anyone who lives hereknows that they come and go pretty darnquickly! So, with that said, I was thrilledwhen I heard that the enormous space inLoehmann’s Plaza that once housed thenow deceased Einsteinn Bagels and RubyTuesday was being given another shot atlife and through the help of “investors”being magically transformed into some-thing new. But what would it be?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if it were a lit-tle wine bar, or a homey little Italian joint?Perhaps a Greek place, a diner, or a crab“shack”. Oh, the possibilities could be end-less…or it could be another chain restaurant.

Well, not only did we get one, but twochain restaurants. Welcome (And despitemy disdain for chains, I mean that with sin-cerity) Chipotle and Peii Wei to the neigh-borhood. Just what we needed. More “fastfood”. But, at least it falls in the better-for-you-then-the-regular-fast-food fast food. And in all fairness I can tolerate both. Theyare ideal lunch spots for most people andwill definitely add life to the shopping cen-ter. By their arrival, residents may even

know that also deceased Prezzo’s has beenreplaced by another Italian food chaineatery, Zucherello’s.

Chipotle, which originally(in mymind) was placed to battle Lime in NMB,was a success. People love it. Jeez, thefounder Steve Ells, even has his own reali-ty TV show, “America’s Next GreatRestaurant” – so he must be doing some-thing right. Anyway, I do admit to havingan affinity to Chipotle’s Carnitas. It is theone ingredient in the place that doesn’tburn my tongue off (I am on the wimpierside when it comes to seriously spicyfoods) when I try to eat there. The burritosare huge and a great value.

And right next store, the “outpost” ofPFF Changs – Pei Wei. For reasonableprices, not only do you get to eat in “fivelanguages” as they like to advertise, butyou get a significant portion of food.Keeping costs down, diners order their ownat a counter and then sit. When the freshlycooked meal comes out, it is delivered toyour table. There is an inviting atmosphere, and take out is available too. As a matter offact, you can order on line and then pop inand pick it up. Love convenience. It defi-nitely serves a purpose.

What is kind of cool is, if you are likeme, and want to order everything you see,it keeps you focused. There’s no column Aor B here. Pick a dish (choose from soups, salads, little plates, noodle and rice dishes, signature dishes, and more) and that’s yourmeal. There’s a kid’s menu, too. It reallyhas choices. From Chinese, Korean,Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese. Since thereis a formula, it’s consistent. It’s not like anylittle neighborhood place (although I dolike Mr.. Chef that resides just around thecorner in the Venture!) And you can havemost anything for $10 or less.

So, welcome to the neighborhoodChipotle and Pei Wei. I am sure, in a townwhere people clamor to safe and tastyrestaurants, you will grow and prosper. Iam sure at some point soon, I will come inand indulge.

EAT THIS... DRINK THAT

Who do you turn to if you need help navi-gating your iPhone or iPad? Your children orgrandchildren, right? If so, you are not alone. In many homes, preschoolers are successfullyusing the iPad to draw, to play games and towatch movies. They are learning their lettersand reading books on the iPad. These samechildren will come to school very computerliterate, very prepared to build on their tech-nology skills. This concept triggers manyquestions. Will our schools be able to meet thechallenge of enhancing their technologyskills? Will our teachers be professionallytrained to meet their students’ needs? Will ourschool’s resources keep pace with the rapidlychanging technology resources?

One of every school’s goals is to prepareour students to be competitive in a global mar-ket. To achieve this goal, the schools mustimplement a rigorous academic curriculumand must maintain state of the art teachingenvironments. How do schools meet this chal-lenge when many federally funded and statefunded programs are being cut? The answer tothis question is highly individualized as eachschool in the County juggles its budget to meetthe needs of its population. At Sunny IslesBeach, we are most fortunate to have a smallgroup of individuals who are members of theSunny Isles Beach Community Fund. Thesole purpose of this organization is to raisefunds to support the school.

Over the past three years, the Fund has pur-chased 60 computers, 15 document cameras, and a site license for a software program forthe school. This amounts to expenditures ofapproximately $50,000! There is no way Icould have purchased these items from myschool budget. With even greater cuts expect-ed for next year, there is not even the possibil-ity that I could plan for such purchases. Howfortunate we all are that the Fund exists andremains committed to ensuring that our schoolis well equipped.

Now you will understand why SIBCommunity School nominated the Fund as itsexemplary Dade Partner. Bob Welsh, theFund President, and Vice Mayor Lew Thaler,Vice President, have secured donations frommany community businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, and residents who are dedicated toproviding the finest learning environment forthe SIB students. These donors are often fea-tured in an article in this newspaper and arehonored with a piece on the Norman S.Edelcup Wall of Giving. In addition, many ofour parents have made contributions to theFund and have purchased a piece on the Wallwhich adorns our atrium of the school. Withcontinued support from the Fund, the future ofour school and our students is bright. We willbe able to prepare these young men andwomen for their roles as leaders in the globaleconomy.

demolition of the existing pier was onschedule and the installation of piles hadbeen initiated.

When Hurricane Wilma cut acrosssouth Florida on October 24, 2005, theNewport fishing pier sustained extensivedamage. In December of 2007, goodnews about renewing the Newport pierwas announced when the CityCommission passed a resolution approv-ing a letter of agreement with Dr. RobertCornfeld, president of NewportOperating Corporation, for restoration ofthe pier located at 16701 Collins Avenue.

Built in 1936, the half-mile long pierwas designated an historic site in 1982and has long been a popular destinationfor fishing enthusiasts and sightseers.According to the public/private partner-ship forged between Cornfeld and the city- Cornfeld agreed to contribute $2 milliontoward the demolition, design andreplacement of the pier and would sharein net revenues. The city is designated asthe lessee with the State of Florida for thepier - retaining control over the entire pierdesign, operations, and selection of thefirm occupying the pier’s restaurant.

During a Dec. 13, 2007 Commissionmeeting, Cornfeld expressed appreciationto the Commission and city staff for “theopportunity to join together in apublic/private partnership to resurrect[the pier] that has been part of the com-munity for over 70 years.”

Mayor Edelcup noted, “[The city will]work diligently with you to restore one ofFlorida’s great resources…We hope tocompletely rebuild the pier so it willstand for at least another hundred years.”

FOR THE PEOPLEAt the March 17 City Commission

meeting, ordinances were passed pertain-ing to residential permitting cost disclo-sures, irrigation systems and drivewaysafety in keeping with the goal to “serveand protect” residents.

In a column recently written byCommissioner Jeanette Gatto to help peo-ple better understand the ordinances, sheexplained, “If you hire a contractor to do ajob and the job requires a permit from thecity, the contractor is now required to dis-close the exact cost of the permit to you sothat you know without a doubt how muchthe city is charging for that permit.

“If you own a single or two-familyhome and need to do landscaping youwere required to install an automaticunderground irrigation system. Afterreviewing the code, the city decided thatthis kind of system would create unneces-sary additional cost to those homeowners,so now it will no longer be needed.

“The city charter has a section known as‘Land Development Regulations.’ Withinthat section is another section known asthe Driveway Standards Section. This sec-tion is going to be revised to provideeveryone with a more concise understand-ing of the code for clear sight safety trian-gles for driveways. This will be done ineasier-to-read chart form and will includeattractive graphics.”

On March 11th, Japan experienced a9.0-magnitude earthquake, the largest inthe country’s recorded history. The earth-quake caused tsunamis of up to 33 feet thatwashed six miles inland, sweeping up cars, houses, and debris in swift and deadlyblack waves of destruction. Broken gaslines and damaged infrastructure causedmore than 80 fires, some of which burnedfor days. There is also the threat of nuclearradiation exposure. Hundreds of thousandsof people are facing overwhelming condi-tions.

At least 430,000 people are in emer-gency shelters or with relatives, and anoth-er 24,000 are stranded without any shelter, according to the NHK (Japan’s nationalpublic broadcasting organization).Millions in the northeast are facing near-freezing temperatures without food, water,or electricity. And so many residents andvisitors to Sunny Isles Beach have askedwhat can we do to help?

There are a few ways to help. The Cityhas established a link on its website,www.sibfl.net, which goes directly to theAmerican Red Cross Japan Earthquake andPacific Tsunami Appeal. Mayor Norman S.Edelcup issued a letter to SIB residents andemployees advising them of the websitelink and how to help. Here is how yourdonation can help: About 365,000 peopleare staying in as many as 2,300 sheltersoperated by the Japanese government andsupported by the Japanese Red Cross, which has distributed 125,000 blankets and20,700 emergency kits evacuees.

Each day, approximately 10,000 peopleare able to leave the evacuation centers andreturn to their homes as electricity isrestored. Others who had to leave homesclose to the damaged nuclear power plants, however, do not know how long they willremain in the public shelters.

The Japanese Red Cross has alsodeployed nearly 250 medical teams to datewith 40 of these teams currently workingin hospitals, mobile clinics and otherhealth facilities to provide a range of healthcare services and comfort traumatized sur-vivors. Besides donating on the SIB Citywebsite www.sibfl.net, people can make a$10 donation by texting REDCROSS to90999. Gifts to the American Red Crosswill support disaster relief efforts to helpthose affected by the earthquake and tsuna-mi throughout the Pacific.

Many animal friendly residents who vis-ited TThhee SSIIBB BBoonnee ZZoonnee asked, “What canbe done to help the animals in Japan?”There are a few rescue groups assistingincluding American Humane, WSPA-World Society for Protection of Animalsalong with Best Friends Animal Society.

For the latest updates on facebook there is asocial media group JEAR-JapaneseEarthquake and Animal Rescue comprised ofthree no kill shelter groups located in Japan;HEART-Tokushima http://www.hearttokushi-ma.com/ENGLISH/WELCOME.html

These groups have formed a coalition andpost videos of the current situation and whatthey are doing to help the people and theircompanion animals in the hard hit regions.

We have provided just a sampling of themany worthwhile organizations that arehelping in this crisis. But if you are unsureof how to help; a great resource for you isthe charity navigator website. I certainly do! Over the years, Ihave heard so many people talk aboutor reminisce upon a certain specialteacher they will never forget. Thereasons are many and varied. HE orSHE was the one who took a specialinterest in us, or challenged us to domore, encouraged us not to give up orquit. They improved our self esteem, they were the calming face during aturbulent time in our life. OR, maybe

they were just a plain GREATTEACHER and EDUCATOR.

But there always seemed to be onespecial teacher whom we recall aboveall. For some it was our early years ofelementary school, for others thetough, pre-teenage years of middleschool and later on, high school.Somewhere along the way, there wasa special man or woman, who dedicat-ed their lives, foregoing much greatersalaries and benefits in other profes-sions, because they were committed

to EDUCATION.In the near future, the City of Sunny

Isles Beach and its Police Department, will be awarding college scholarshipsto college bound high school students(seniors) who are eligible. They willbe presented in May for the first time.Plans for a “brunch” to meet them andsome of our FANTASTIC TEACHERSfrom our local schools including Dr.Krop High School, Mourning HighSchool and Sunny Isles Beach K-8Community School are in the works.

As previously mentioned and promised, it is our intent to educate the public in spe-cific areas of traffic law, especially those that are most common for violations and haz-ardous to the safety of all. If one life is saved, one accident is prevented, one driver iskept from receiving a citation, because they are now better educated in the law. This is one of the MOST frequent violations resulting in accidents, mostly becausedrivers are UNAWARE of who has the right of way.

PPRROOBBLLEEMM OORR VVIIOOLLAATTIIOONN::When a driver is stopped at a red light, waiting to make a right turn on red when per-

mitted, we often encounter another driver in the intersection, attempting to make a U-turn. The recipe is for disaster. Now you have a collision course by the vehicle mak-ing a right on red and the U-turn while, moving into the same direction and path.

LLAAWW AANNDD SSOOLLUUTTIIOONN::Vehicles in the intersection have the priority of Right of Way over the vehicle turn-

ing Right on Red. The driver who is turning right on red has the obligation that theintersection and oncoming vehicles are clear before completing such a turn. One of themost common places you will encounter this for example is at 178 street and CollinsAve in our city. Vehicles turning right onto Collins Ave. to go southbound, mustYIELD to those vehicles making a U-turn from north to south on Collins Ave. andwhen you have pedestrians in the crosswalks, it even gets more complicated and haz-ardous.

Returning from a full year of active-dutyin the War in Iraq, was most likely a blessingin itself. Being presented military honors byyour Mayor and Commissioners, was evenmore gratifying and rewarding for a job welldone. That is what happened on Thursday,February 24th of this year at the CityCommission meeting for Sunny Isles Beach.

Mayor Norman Edelcup was asked byOfficer Albert Porro to personally award tohim, the Bronze Star that Porro earnedwhile serving his year of deployment inIraq. Officer Porro also learned that he hasbeen awarded the “Purple Heart” forinjuries he sustained while rescuing someof his injured soldiers and saving their livesafter an ambush attack on their unit.

The City Commissioners also participat-ed in the recognition of Porro, as they pre-

sented him with the loyalty and courage andbravery award he had received prior tobeing deployed. The encased coin (award)was held in the roll call room everydaywhile Officer Porro was away from us. Tosay he was kept in our hearts and minds andprayers would be an understatement.

Officer Porro requested that MayorEdelcup present him with the militaryhonor for the support he was shown by theMayor during his deployment. Porro stat-ed, “It meant a lot to me having the CityLeaders support me during this difficulttime of separation from my job and myfamily.”

Porro was welcomed back exuberantlyby all those in attendance at the meeting andreceived a standing ovation for his serviceto his country and this city.

Thus far in 2011, thestars are aligned for bassanglers and fishing in gen-eral. Tournaments show-case record and near-recordcatches, and we’re hearingfrom around the state aboutbig bass and impressive

catch numbers. On Lake Kissimmee, Tom Rewis and

Doug Chance produced a five-bass stringertotaling more than 40 pounds to win the TonyStrickland Memorial Tournament. On LakeTohopekaliga, Gerald Swindle’s 80-pound,13-ounce accumulation of 15 bass over threedays came close to setting a B.A.S.S. record.Okeechobee produced a four-day total of106-pounds, 10-ounces for FLW Tournamentwinner Brandon McMillan – a new tourrecord. Zack Mack, from Tennessee, caught a14-pound-2-ounce Florida largemouth basson Lake Kissimmee in early February.

Meanwhile, Sean Rush of Trophy BassExpeditions said, “Rodman Lake may be thehottest trophy bass lake anywhere right now.”He recently documented bass over 12pounds, with two clients catching and releas-

ing 50 fish in a single day. Even though evidence points to a stellar year,

the Florida Fish and Wildlife ConservationCommission (FWC) encourages bass-fishingaficionados to consider catch-and-release for thelong-term good of the stock.

The FWC’s “Big Catch” angler recognitionprogram enables anglers of all ages to submitan application for a full-color certificate and awindow decal to memorialize their fishingtrips. The program allows people to submitinformation about memorable catches of anyof 33 species of freshwater fish for recogni-tion, based on qualifying lengths or weights(see <MyFWC.com/Fishing>).

As part of the public input the FWCreceived in developing a new Long-TermBlack Bass Management Plan, one agreed-upon goal was making Florida the undisputedbass fishing capital of the world. That title isheavily influenced by communicating newsabout outstanding fishing opportunities.

One component of the plan is a “TrophyCatch” program that recognizes anglers whocatch really large bass and provides incentivesfor them to report and release their catch.

The plan isn’t just about trophy fish. Allaspects of fisheries management are beingreconsidered and fine tuned to create the bestpossible outcome for anglers visiting or livingin Florida. Key considerations include habitat

improvement, real estate values, improvedaccess to increase local business opportunities, and streamlining rules. Not lost in the plan isthe essence of creating safe and sustainableopportunities and the desire to ensure thatfuture generations value our natural resourcesand perpetuating the fishing tradition.

The FWC is teaming with Visit Florida topromote our state as the “Fishing Capital ofthe World.” We are also looking at new andexciting ways to integrate social marketingand modern technology to help families findproductive places to fish and overcomingbarriers that prevent them from reconnectingwith nature.

Another great opportunity for Floridafishing communities is to tout themselves inthe World Fishing Network’s “UltimateFishing Town USA” competition(<ww.WFNFishingTown.com>. Folks cannominate their town and people acrossAmerica will vote for the winner. The win-ning town receives a $25,000 grant for afisheries improvement project and a half-hour television show dedicated entirely tofishing in its community.

The World Fishing Network made Floridaits own region because we have such numerousand diverse resources. Since each of the sevenregions will have their top two vote-getters inthe runoff, Florida will have two finalists.Nominate your town now and publicize thevalue of your unique fishery resources.

As Chairman of the Florida Fish andWildlife Conservation Commission and anavid outdoors person who grew up around theEverglades, I understand that the quality offishing reflects the quality of living. Florida’ssaltwater and freshwater fisheries are world-class, thanks to great resources and responsi-ble management. We should be proud of allthe jobs the fishing industry creates and weshould marvel at how fishing can move youfrom sighs of relaxation as you unwind, toshouts of elation as you catch another Floridatrophy, to smiles of satisfaction as yourelease it to perpetuate the experience. To find out more about Florida’s Wildlife LegacyInitiative and Florida’s State Wildlife Grant pro-gram, go to <ww.MyFWC.com/WILDLIFE-HABITATS/Legacy_index.htm>.

A Parade is a public proces-sion with a number of people moving for-ward in an orderly or ceremonial progres-sion. The participants have a commonbond. They share and support a commoninterest. It is usually a march through thestreets often with bands and music. It is anevent of the people.

A parade is a celebration. It is joyful, exhilarating and uplifting. It is full oflife-affirming positive energy and socialinteraction. It is reaffirming because yourealize that you are not alone. You are partof humanity. You are part of the whole.Other people are there with you. You aresharing and participating in somethingtogether.

You can participate even if you do notmarch in the parade itself. You are part ofit whether you march or not. You canstand along the route and encourage theparticipants. You can cheer, wave, clapand applaud them. Even if you feel thatyou have nothing in common with thepeople marching or viewing the parade itis still important to go to a parade. It feelsgood and it is good for you. It willimprove your mental and physical health.

In various places there are paradesthroughout the year. Some places haveonly a few and some places have many.In New York City there are many paradesespecially in the Spring and Summer whenthere is a parade almost every Sunday. So,there are many opportunities to rechargeyourself with the positive energy aroundyou. No matter where you live make timeto go to the parades you do have, if onlyfor a little while.

They’re the hi-tech cars of the future, andthey slowly are making their way into themainstream marketplace.

Take for example, the Nissan’s All-Electric Leaf. It’s so revolutionary in factthat it doesn’t even have a tailpipe. And it’snot alone. General Motors’ electric hybridalso is a plug-in vehicle that uses batteriesand a gas-powered engine to generate powerfor its electric motors. It literally plugs inovernight.

Likewise, Ford has a model of its own, thenew Focus Electric, and that’s in addition to awhole herd of new Ford hybrids. Still, thecost of “going green” comes with a stiff price.Chevy’s Volt carries a base price of about$41,000, but there’s also a $7,500 tax creditthat buyers are entitled to once they maketheir purchase.

The Volt has a battery range of about 50miles and then it uses its gas engine to gen-erate electricity for a range of several hun-

dred miles more. A full recharge takes abouteight to 10 hours using a regular 110 outlet.

Nissan’s Leaf sells for about $33,000 andalso is eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. Ithas a range of about 100 miles before it hasto be recharged. However, it takes 18 to 20hours to achieve a full charge. In addition, there’s a charger that can be purchased for anextra cost that provides a special high volt-age line that cuts the charger time down toabout eight hours.

Unfortunately, no matter how badly wewant to go green, we just can’t do it yet. That’sbecause we can’t get them anywhere in SouthFlorida. As it turns out, Florida will be one ofthe last states in the country to get these cars.We may see them later this year, but that’s atthe earliest.

So what’s the problem? It seems that wedon’t have an existing electrical infrastruc-ture. That means there’s no place to publiclyrecharge the electric cars. And that’s becauseFlorida, unlike other states taking part in the“green” revolution simply hasn’t preparedfor them. That disappoints a lot of local con-sumers who want to go green right now, butcan’t.
