Our Spiritual Guide
The Holy Spirit leads you not only into God’s truth but also into your own. Under the guidance of the Spirit, you learn to gradually see yourself as you are, with your bright and dark sides, your potentials and limitations. The Spirit teaches you to affirm yourself in all you have experienced and suffered through, your whole past, all your complexes and wounds. Psychology teaches us that it is difficult to face the truth about ourselves—so difficult, in fact, that many need the help of a therapist, because they do not dare to enter this darkness alone. The Spirit of truth is our foremost therapist. With the help of the Spirit you can, step by step, dare to see and affirm your whole reality. This is so because the Spirit, at the same time as he leads you into the truth, comforts you by making you understand that you are claimed by God exactly as you are. It becomes so much easier to claim yourself and your reality, when you know you are claimed by God. “Don’t be afraid to see yourself as you are,” the Spirit whispers ceaselessly within you, “God loves you as you are and not for what you are not.” The Spirit gives you therapy for free, not three times a week, but constantly, provided you will listen. Prayer, regular, enduring prayer in God’s stillness, is the best way to receive this guidance from the Spirit.

WEEKLY REFLECTION
I so strongly encourage everyone to mark you calendars for our weekly HOLY HOUR OF ADORATION FOR AN END TO THE PANDEMIC that has been switched from Sunday afternoons to WEDNESDAY EVENINGS from 7:30-8:30pm. Please join us in the main church before the Lord as we pray for the sick and suffering, for a quick end to the pandemic, and for guidance for our government, church, and health officials. “Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me. Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger. I bind unto myself the Name, the strong Name of the Trinity, By invocation of the same, the Three in One and One in Three. By Whom all nature hath creation, Eternal Father, Spirit, Word: Praise to the Lord of my salvation, Salvation is of Christ the Lord.” St. Patrick Breastplate - An Excerpt

PRAYER FOR THOSE SERVING OUR COUNTRY
Dear Gracious God, You know that our military and first responders ride
an emotional roller coaster and even when their efforts are successful, the things they see and do take a heavy toll emotionally. Please guard their
hearts and minds. Restore their mental and emotional resources when they have been depleted. And let them not become weary in their good work
(Galatians 6:9), in Jesus’ name, Amen.

“The stone the builders rejected has become the corner stone…” - MATTHEW 21:42
Jesus was rejected by the religious and political leaders of his day, as well as ordinary citizens. Living a stewardship lifestyle may cause you to be “rejected” by others in today's society. For example, saying grace before a meal in a restaurant may attract some strange looks from some. But to others it is sign that God is alive and well!

Woodcarvings from the Holy Land OCTOBER 10/11 After all Masses (except the 6:30pm) UPPER SETON HALL
Next weekend there will be a display of beautiful olivewood handmade carvings from the Holy Land in Upper Seton Hall. These carvings are made by the Christians of Bethlehem who use them as their main source of income. These brothers and sisters of ours are enduring hardships at this moment because of the volatile situation in their home country. Christians in the Holy Land used to be more than 37% of the population. There is less than 1% now because of the situation. As Christians of faith, it is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in Bethlehem. YOU can support them by purchasing some of these beautiful carvings after Mass. FRIENDSHIP
"Man becomes an image of God not so much in the moment of solitude as in the moment of communion."
- St. John Paul II
SAINT FAUSTINA St. Faustina was a simple Polish woman whom God chose to share his message of Divine Mercy with the world. In her diary, she recounts that God told her, " (Let) the greatest daughter, write about My mercy towards tormented souls. Souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to My compassion, but on the contrary, I justify him in My unfathomable and inscrutable mercy."

OCTOBER SUNDAY'S IN ORDINARY TIME
Our Recessional Hymn at the Vigil (5:00pm), and Sunday 10:45am and 12:30pm Masses this weekend is Christ is Made the Sure Foundation. The tune the hymn is sung by is from the great English composer Henry Purcell, who was for many years regarded as the greatest English composer and wrote the popular Trumpet Tune that is still heard as a processional or recessional at many weddings. The text is a 19th century translation and adaptation of the latin hymn Urbs beata Jerusalem which was often sung at the dedication of a church.
"Christ is made the sure foundation, Christ the head and cornerstone, chosen of the Lord and precious, binding all the church in one;
holy Zion's help forever, and her confidence alone. "

COMING THIS JANUARY! ALPHA
WHAT IS IT? Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment, by offering people the opportunity to discuss, ask questions, and express their own views no matter what they might be.
Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How can I have faith? Why and how do I pray? Why and how should I read the Bible? How does God guide us? Who is the Holy Spirit?
What does the Holy Spirit do? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit How can I make the most of the rest of my life? How can I resist evil? Why should I tell others? Does God heal today? What about the church?
