All schools and districts are required to strictly adhere to the policy of administering the Achievement test in five consecutive business days during the three week testing window.

In the first calendar year (less than 365 days) an ESL student is enrolled in a US school, he/she may be excluded from participation in the following portions of the TCAP Achievement Test: Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies. Beginning in 2007-2008, a recently arrived ELL student must also participate in the State's science assessments. All ELL students must participate in math and science this year.

Transitional ELL students are non-English language background students who were classified as ELL based on the Test of English Fluency and who have scored fluent English proficient or above on all subtests of the Test of English Fluency.

Faculty Student Data is the name given for the process of claiming students in order to generate teacher effect. It is required by law.

Faculty Student Data (FSD) – Students receiving Special Education services must be excluded from teacher rosters. Students with 504 plans must be included.
