Appropriate calculators may be used on both mathematics subtests of the 3-8 Achievement Test as per system policy.Calculator use is an allowable accommodation if the system allows all 3-8 students to use a calculator on the mathematics subtests.

In the first calendar year (less than 365 days) an ESL student is enrolled in a US school, he/she may be excluded from participation in the following portions of the TCAP Achievement Test: Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies. Beginning in 2007-2008, a recently arrived ELL student must also participate in the State's science assessments. All ELL students must participate in math and science this year.

Transitional ELL students are non-English language background students who were classified as ELL based on the Test of English Fluency and who have scored fluent English proficient or above on all subtests of the Test of English Fluency.

Faculty Student Data is the name given for the process of claiming students in order to generate teacher effect. It is required by law.
