Certification & Test

Multi-antenna Technique Verified in TD-LTE Large-Scale Trial in ChinaLarge-Scale Trial in China

8‐path antenna supporting TM2/3/7 performs better than 2‐path antenna• Draw‐away coverage: 13% longer than 2‐path antenna in down link and 21%longer in up link in average

2/8 Path Antenna Comparison

•Coverage: both satisfied requirements (up to 95%)•Throughput in Single UE: 48% gain in down link and 22% gain in up link in averagecompared with 2‐path antenna; higher gain (DL/UP:39%/45%) in cell edge•Network performance: both satisfied requirements

• 8‐path antenna will be a good solution for primary coverage area• 2 path antenna will be appropriate for low cost and large scale coverage

• Interference suppression at cell edge: 39% lower downgrade of throughput dueto beamforming•Beamforming gain: 4~11 dBi (depends on the environments)

Basic Performance Test of 8‐path Antenna

• 2‐path antenna will be appropriate for low cost and large‐scale coverage

g g ( p )•MIMO & Beamforming: adaptive mode shifting performs best

Compact antenna trial

•Throughputs: very similar to basic 8‐path antenna•Draw‐away distance: similar to basic 8‐path antenna

• Similar coverage and performance in urban/dense urban area with 50%less antenna size

Compact Antenna Trial

Co‐site antenna trial

less antenna size• 70% installation time saving

•Draw‐away distance: 7% shorter than independent antenna due to

Co‐site Antenna Trial (TD‐SCDMA & TD‐LTE)

connector loss and combiner loss

• Acceptable loss (~1dB) compared to independent antenna• Easy for engineering and maintenance
