On Sunday, October 1, Rev. John Parille will join us for worship at both services. I’m sure you will enjoy worship with him and I’m hoping that you either come back (if you’ve been to the 8:30 service) or stay (if you’ve been at the 10:00 service) and have lunch with him. During lunch, John is going to lead us in a time of visioning for our future as a congregation. Who do we want to be? Who is God calling us to be? What can we do to reach people for Jesus Christ? John will guide us in making decisions and setting concrete goals to achieve success as a faithful congregation that is in touch with the world and our community in service to Jesus. I’ve known John and worked with him for a few years and I respect him as a leader, colleague and pastor. He uses humor and life experiences to move his audience to action. He is a powerful witness to the Gospel. While our goal for the day is to get busy and get to work, I can assure you that you will leave uplifted and energized by his message and guidance. We need to hear from you! That’s right … YOU! Your voice, your ideas, your insight are all very important to this process. Please make every effort to attend this lunch meeting. We want to hear from many voices from different areas of interest in the church! We will be efficient in our use of time so that you can get onto your other Sunday afternoon activities. We will also have childcare available for any younger children who stay with us as well! Please join me in praying for our work with John and the work that we will continue to do after he leaves us. God is indeed still calling us to vibrant ministry. Let us come together to discern the path that we will follow for 2018 and beyond! Tai-Chi classes will be starting again on October 4th, 2017, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. The first session will run for 10 weeks, finishing on December 6th, 2017. We will then break for Christmas and New Year resuming classes on January 10th running for another 10 weeks ending on March 14th, 2018.

We will be starting a “New” form which is Sun “Soon” style Tai-Chi beginning with the Fall session and moving forward. We will be following a very, very slow pace, gearing our studies towards new students and Tai-Chi absolute beginners. All are welcome to join us!!

Come and see what Tai-Chi is like and join us on our continuing Tai-Chi journey; this program of Tai-Chi for Health and Balance is an evidence based program that will help you regain and/or improve your balance, as well as a myriad of health benefits, which include but are not limited to (relaxation, improved breathing, better mind & body control and lowered blood pressure). The classes will follow a very simple repeating pattern to allow everyone to grasp the forms and concepts.

Suggested donation per class is $5.00, or whatever you can afford.

For more information, please contact: Walter Bruce, Owner – Instructor, Dragons Wing Tai-Chi & Qigong, LLC, Bristol, Ct. 06010. Phone: (203) 560-0571 or email [email protected] or [email protected]

Seated Tai-Chi program starting soon Walter Bruce will also be starting a seated Tai-Chi program this fall. If you are mobility challenged or disabled but still want to keep active, this program is for you. The class will run initially every Friday for six (6) weeks, from 11:00 am until 11:45 am. Walter will notify all interested parties of the start date once he has sufficient students to run the class. If interested, call/text Walter at (203) 560-0571, or email him at [email protected] or [email protected].

Sunday Worship Services at 8:30 and 10:00 AM Fellowship Hour at 11:00 AM

[The abundant grace] we have received is not just a medicine sufficient to heal the wound of sin but also health and beauty and honor and glory and dignity far transcending our natural state. Each of these in itself would have been enough to do away with death, but when they are all put together in one, there is not a trace of death left, nor can any shadow of it be seen, so entirely has it been done away with.

—St. John Chrysostom
