Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of
our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical
suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your
mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and
free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and
deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask
this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.

Dear Parents of all CCD students,
There will be a special curriculum taught the week of November 27th
mandated by the Biloxi diocese. It is about creating a safe environment for all
of our children. Lessons will be taught by grade level through the curriculum
provided by the diocese and the lessons are very age appropriate. In the
younger levels they talk about “Good touch/Bad touch” and in the older levels
they talk about healthy relationships and what to do when you find yourself in
an un-safe situation and how to prevent being there in the first place.
I am saddened as may of you are that we live in a society where we have to
fear certain people. It forces us to talk to our children about very adult issues
at a young age. I assure you that this curriculum is very good and
age-appropriate.
If you do not want your child to attend this session on November 27th, please
fill out the form available in the back of the church and bring it to Lucy
Peterson or your child’s CCD teacher. Your child will not be counted absent on
that day only if we have a form on file.
Thank you for choosing to bring up your child in the Catholic faith. As parent’s
you are your child’s first teacher of their faith and we are honored that you trust
us enough to be a part of their religious education.
Sincerely,
Lucy Peterson
Dear parents,
Our Children’s Christmas Program is approaching. Last year we had over
twenty children participate. The program is so much fun to prepare for. There
are very few lines to learn, fun and energetic songs to sing, and a few simple
dance moves to go with them. There are also many opportunities for children
to sing solos or have speaking parts if they so choose. The program is open to
children from 3 –12 years old. The program will be performed on Sunday,
December18th at 3:00 p.m. and there will be a dress rehearsal/performance on
Thursday, December 15th at 6:00 p.m. We will have about 6-7 other practices
in preparation of the performance. Our first practice is on Monday, November
28th from 5:15-6:30p.m. in the church. A full list of practices is below. Please
encourage your child to help us tell the story of Jesus’ birth. It will be a
wonderful experience for them and a great opportunity for you to see your child
shine.
Sincerely,
Cherie Prentiss

Prayer for Vocations
Loving God, How awesome are your ways! Through your abundant love you
bless us with gifts that can make our world holy and just. Dwell deep in our
hearts that we may know how to share these gifts. Inspire many to respond
generously to your call to service in the Church. May the fire of your love
direct us on our journey that we may act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly
with you. We give you the praise and honor now and forever. Amen.
