Today’s lesson explains the 2nd person of the Trinity…. God the Son (Jesus). The students will learn about God the Son as Savior who was, and still is, fully human and fully God. As we are teaching the students about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, we are explaining how EACH PERSON OF THE TRINITY is at work while strongly emphasizing that God is ONE {3 in 1). Again, the word “Trinity” is a human attempt to explain the harmony of the three persons that coexist in the Godhead. It’s very difficult for children to make logical sense of the Trinity, so instead of trying to help it make “logical sense” we focus and celebrate EACH PERSON OF THE TRINITY and simply remind them that it is ONE GOD in 3 separate persons (not 3 different gods) who work together in a Christian’s life. The Trinity is One God, Who is three persons and each person is fully God When we speak of God the Son we are speaking of Jesus. It’s important to know that Jesus always existed with God the Father even before he was born. God became a human being, because He was born of Mary. Mary was a human being. Jesus was (and is) the Son of God, who came from God and saved us from eternal punishment for our sins. God the Son became like us for our sake (Philippians 2:5-11) God had decided before He created anything in the world that sinful people would be saved through Jesus, God the Son. Jesus was (and still is) 100% God and was also 100% human. As a human, God the Son experienced all hard things that we experience here on earth; yet being 100% God He never used his power to do what he wanted. God the Son was obedient and did everything that God the Father asked Him to do (Hebrews 5:8.) It is through God the Son (Jesus) that we are saved from sin and death. April, Lesson #2

Today’s Lesson Overview:

April’s Topic is “The Trinity” In last week’s lesson we taught about the first person of the Trinity – God the Father who revealed himself as Father and Creator.

The Trinity is One God, Who is three persons and each person is fully God

When we speak of God the Son we are speaking of Jesus. It’s important to know that Jesus always existed with God the Father even before he was born. God became a human being, because He was born of Mary. Mary was a human being. Jesus was (and is) the Son of God, who came from God and saved us from eternal punishment for our sins.

“Parenting rules that worked for your toddler and preadolescents won’t

serve you well in parenting an adolescent. For instance, when your kids

were toddlers, you were able to control their environment so that many of

the negative influences would be minimized. You could control what they

watched on television and the friends with whom they played.

Unfortunately those days are gone and it usually begins when kids enter

their adolescent years. The days of “controlling” their every move are

over.” Sure you can make them follow your rules while they are with

you, but it doesn’t mean that they are not doing things behind your back.

You can influence your children, but you can’t control them. Parenting is

not so much about controlling as it is about influencing them to make

good and right decisions when they are not with you. That is the goal!

April, Lesson #2

We have begun practice for the Mother’s day presentation. If your child is participating, please see Iris Baez for practice dates and times.

Mother’s Day Presentation is Sunday, May 8, 2016

Our Motto “We are here to equip you, not replace you.”

Our Mission We are here to support the parents in “Training up the child in the way he should go: so when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) We are here to equip you, not replace you. Our desire is that every parent would be encouraged and ready to rise up to the call in teaching their children to love God with all of their heart, mind, and soul through total obedience to Him.

Our Vision

To come alongside the parents to equip them to be the primary leaders in the spiritual development of their children.

Ministry Leadership Sylvia Smith – Elder/Ministry Director Iris Baez – Team Leader (ages 5-7) Wanda Ramos – Team Leader (ages 8-10) Jackie Materon – Team Leader (ages 11 & 12)
