A ROUND THE A RCHDIOCESE WEEKLY MASS AT ATLANTA VA MEDICAL CENTER All Catholics are invited to attend the weekly Monday Mass at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Mass begins at 11:30AM. Many of our Catholic veterans do not have family or visitors and look to the church for pastoral care. This weekly Mass is celebrated for the wellbeing and spiritual support of veterans from all branches. By attending Mass and through prayer, we show our appreciation for the dedicated service of our veterans, lifting their spirits in prayerful solidarity. For more information, please contact Fr. John Kieran at [email protected]. MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK (MIAW) is October 2-8, 2016. Its purpose is to give recognition to the work accom- plished by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and similar organizations to educate and raise awareness about such conditions as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Its been predicted that one out of every four families in a parish will have to cope with the effects of mental illness. CONGRATULATIONS TO BISHOP TALLEY With Bishop David Talley being appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana, his brother bishops in Atlanta thank him and wish him the best. SAINT PIUS X CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL of Atlanta is looking for a part time Grounds Security & Maintenance Assistant. The grounds security and maintenance assistance is a custodian that supports the Plant Supervisor. He or she fulfills duties and assignments as directed by the Plant Manager & Operations Manager. This position works 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Responsibilities include: daily patrolling and supervision of all parking lots; cleaning of campus including athletic fields during patrolling hours; notifying plant manager of equipment breakdown & other needs; ensuring that conces- sion areas are presentable and in good condition prior to home events/games; helping set up when needed; opening the senior parking lot at 2:30 p.m.; assisting with dismissal traffic; closing the Chapel, senior courtyard, equipment stor- age rooms and two of the main gates at 3:30 p.m.; and perform other duties as assigned by Plant Supervisor. The quali- fied candidate should be reliable, flexible, an independent worker, multi-tasker, willing to take direction, and have an excellent work ethic. In addition to his victorious challenge of segregation in Brown vs. Board of Education, humorous and inspiring milestones of Marshalls journey reveal the re- markable brilliance, perseverance and hope of one of the greatest American heroes of all time. NEW MOVEMENT IN DANCE: ATLANTA RISING CHOREOGRAPHERS, one of Lourdes own, Kenya Griffin, will be spotlighted with three others in the National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) of rising choreographer stars who are defining and shaping the new direction of dance in Atlanta. The program will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 9AM—5:30PM. Tickets are free for students and $30.00 for all others.

CALLING ALL MINISTRIES! Simon's Call (the AIDS ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes) is building its annual AIDS Walk Team for the October 16 Walk. Please go to AIDS Walk Atlanta 2016 and register with team Our Lady of Lourdes. We are asking you to register with your ministry members or as an individual. Registration is only $10 and you may also donate to Team Lourdes at the same time. See you at the walk!

LOURDES BOOKSTORE is seeking a Bookstore Coordinator, this individual will be responsible for the following: Order items to be sold at the bookstore and maintain inventory, coordinate assignments for the other Volunteers, prepare monthly de-posit for all sales receipts, provide accounting records to the Church Bookkeeper and willing to fill in at the bookstore when there are no other volunteers to cover a Mass. This individual must be a self- starter, able to work on their own, have good organizational and people skills, and some computer skills will be helpful.
