By Alisa Lee Tis the season to be jolly, Deck the halls with boughs of holly, and a time of family and friends… This is the time of year that everyone wants to help and around here we always talk about sharing is car- ing. We are counting on you to care and share TxSR with everyone that you meet. Our mission is to find forever homes for our kitties, so we don’t push adoption because we strive to find the right home for each cat. We do; however, believe in pushing to spread the word. Everyone can do something and you will be surprised at what a difference this can and does make. This is something that you can help us with. It doesn’t cost you anything and it could change more than one life. Just remember this when you help place one of our cats you are saving three cats’ lives. The one that you helped get adopted, the one sitting in animal control waiting on us, and this makes room for one that is in the cold to come into animal control. This doesn’t even include the people’s lives that you changed. They were able to adopt one of our kitties and gained a new family member. This is a spe- cial thing and you have the ability to be a very important part of it. There is nothing more important than finding the perfect home for one of our sweet babies. We have 86 cats here that all need forever homes and we are counting on your help to make these cats’ dreams come true. We have every type of personality imaginable. We have every color point and even non-color point such as sweet DSH and exotic cats here at the ranch. Get Involved! Less than 30 days left and we need your help now to save the Ranch....
For those that are unaware last year we were given the opportunity to pay $40,000.00 by the end of this year then the lien holder would forgive the re-maining $204,000.00 of the loan. As of year to date we have paid $30,000.00 and we are down to the last $10,000.
We are counting on you to help us make this happen. This is an amazing blessing that we have been given and I know that with your support we will be able to clear up the largest debt that we have. This will allow us to focus on other projects and build a brighter future for the cats that are in our care. This will also allow us to provide cats with a safe haven.
Deck The Halls - With Care!Colorful ornamental plants are a fun, festive way to dress up the house during the holidays. Pet owners should be aware, however, that
many of these common plants are poisonous to pets.
Toxicity ranges from mild to severe, and the amount of plant consumed determines how sick a pet may become. In general, gastrointes-tinal upset is the most common result, but if enough plant material is ingested, seizure, coma or death is possible.

If you suspect your pet has ingested a toxic plant, it is extremely important to contact your veterinarian right away. The more informa-tion you can provide your vet the better able they will be to appropriately treat your pet. Try to identify what type of plant, the amount
ingested, time of ingestion, and the symptoms your pet is displaying if you are able.

With these phrases in mind we introduce our Trading Post Meezer style. You can get something for donating, donate items, or trade an item for a small donation fee. It will all depend on what you want to do. We really hope you will
join us in this new and fun approach to donating.
The Meezer Trading Post will be coming out this month. You can find all kinds of fun stuff both new and gently used and it is a great way to donate and get something in return.

Register your Kroger Card and Donate to TxSR when you shop
Another easy way to help the meezers! Just sign your Kroger loyalty card up for the Kroger Community Rewards program and Kroger will donate to TxSR every time you shop!
How to Participate (customers may enroll starting August 1, 2013):1) Members should register online at www.krogercommunityrewards.com
2) Customers must have a registered Kroger Plus card account to link to TxSR. Kroger Plus cards are available at the Customer Service desk at any Kroger.
3) New online customers must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the ‘New Customer’ box.
4) Sign up for a Kroger Community Rewards Account by entering your zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address, creating a password, and agreeing to the terms and conditions.
5) Receive a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email.
6) Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
7) Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number and then update or con-firm your information.
8) You will enter TxSR’s NPO number 91135 or name of organization, or select organization from list and click on confirm.
9) To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see TxSR’s name on the right side of your information page.
10) REMEMBER, purchases will not count for TxSR until after member(s) register your card(s).
11) Do you use your phone number at the register? Call 800-576-4377, select option 4 to get your Plus Card number.
12) Members must swipe your registered Kroger Plus Card or use your Alt ID when shopping for each purchase to count.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that TxSR exists because of a team effort from volunteers, adopters and benefactors. Each of you have a huge impact on Texas Siamese Rescue and our ability to keep this organization going to rescue, shelter and re-home these wonderful cats. If you have some free time, skills, or monetary support to volunteer - you can
make our rescue work possible. Our meezers and all of us at TxSR are extremely grateful for all of your contributions - no amount of time or financial support is too small to make a difference in the lives of these wonderful cats.

Meezer Ranch is in need of some long overdue mainte-nance. As you can see from the attached photos, the wood
siding of the Ranch has been significantly damaged over the years. If you have some carpentry skills and would be willing to donate some time and/or materials to us, we’d
love to have this fixed.
Another project we’d love to have help with is winteriz-ing the Ranch presently the building is quite drafty which
means significant expense in heating and cooling.

Another area TxSR needs help is our outdoor maintenance. The property is quite extensive with shrubs that always
need trimming, gutters that need cleaning, and general yard upkeep.
We would also love to have someone build us a handicap ramp enabling those with disabilities access to visit Meezer
