Know Someone Who Needs Prayers

There are many times in our lives when we come across someone who could use extra prayers especially in these difficult times. As Catholics we know that the most perfect prayer is the Mass and no other prayer that we say would benefit them as much. Consider having a Mass said for your loved ones, living or deceased. Simply come to the office to pick from many available dates and Mass times. There is a suggested donation of $10 for each Mass intention that you request.

Nativity sets are an Advent tradition, hundreds of years old, used by churches and families to better imagine, understand, and relate to the story of Jesus' birth. St. Francis of Assisi created the Nativity scene, also known as the Creche, in 1223. Francis was a monk who lived in the town of Assisi in Italy. Francis was known for living his life differently from most other people. During the time of Advent in 1223, Francis set out to find a way to bring the Christmas story to life for the people of Assisi. He felt that people weren't really paying attention to Christmas and that many people had a hard time understanding the Bible sto-ry. He decided to create a Nativity set to show people what the Christmas story might have looked like. St. Francis used live people and animals and some churches today still create live Nativity scenes. People all around the world use Nativity scenes to remind them of the story of Jesus.

Please join us for our Journey/Tour of Bethlehem sponsored by Our Lady's Sodality. If you would like to participate, please bring your Nativ-ity Sets to the social hall after 3pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Viewing will begin after the 4pm mass on Saturday and until noon on Sunday, January 5, 2014. You may pick up your Nativity Sets by noon on Sunday, January 5th.

Our Lady's Sodality meeting will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, after the 8:00am Mass

in the South Annex. All ladies of the parish are invited to attend.

O sacred and adorable Trinity, hear our prayers on

behalf of our holy Father the Pope, our Bishops, our

clergy, and for all that are in authority over us. Bless,

we beseech Thee, during the coming year, the whole

Catholic Church; convert heretics and unbelievers;

soften the hearts of sinners so that they may return to

Thy friendship; give prosperity to our country and

peace among the nations of the world; pour down Thy

blessings upon our friends, relatives, and

acquaintances, and upon our enemies, if we have any;

assist the poor and the sick; have pity on the souls of

those whom this year has taken from us; and do Thou

be merciful to those who during the coming year will

be summoned before Thy judgment seat. May all our

actions be preceded by Thy inspirations and carried on

by Thy assistance, so that all our prayers and works,

having been begun in Thee, may likewise be ended

through Thee.

Amen
