“With the new day comes new strength and new

Quote of the Day
“I Dream of a better tomorrow, where chicken can cross the road and not be question about their motives.”
Thought for the Day
“I Know The Whole Truth”
At school, Little Johnny's classmate tells him that most adults are hiding at least one dark secret, so it's very easy to blackmail them by saying, "I know the whole truth." Little Johnny decides to go home and try it out. Johnny's mother greets him at home, and he tells her, "I know the whole truth." His mother quickly hands him $20 and says, "Just don't tell your father." Quite pleased, the boy waits for his father to get home from work, and greets him with, "I know the whole truth." The father promptly hands him $40 and says, "Please don't say a word to your mother." Very pleased, the boy is on his way to school the next day when he sees the mailman at his front door. The boy greets him by saying, "I know the whole truth." The mailman immediately drops the mail, opens his arms, and says, "Then come give your
Daddy a great big hug!"

Public Notices Notis-notis Umum
Prawns with WSD may have white spots of 0.5-2.0 mm in diameter
on the inside surface of the shell and a pink to red discoloured
body, legs and tail.
DISEASE ALERT White spot disease in prawns
White spot disease (WSD) is a highly contagious viral infection that affects all crustaceans. WSD has been found on several prawn farms in Queensland, Australia. This disease is currently NOT known to be in Western Australia or the Indian Ocean
Territories (IOTs).
The Department of Fisheries is urging people to do their part to help stop the spread of this virus by NOT using uncooked food grade prawns as bait. Many imported food grade prawns come from countries where WSD is very common. Land crabs at Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands could be susceptible to contracting WSD, therefore uncooked prawns should not be fed to land crabs, or left in a location where they can be scavenged by land crabs. You can also
help by not disposing of prawn waste (heads and shells) in, or near, waterways.
Whilst the disease poses a threat to local crustaceans including crabs and lobsters, there is no threat to human health or
food safety.
If you want to bring prawns in to the IOTs, particular steps have to be followed to ensure you do not spread the disease to the local species. Please do not import live or uncooked prawns, parts of prawns or polychaete worms from Queensland
to use as bait. However, as cooking the prawn kills the disease there is no ban on the importation of cooked prawns.
Recreational fishers are urged to check their bait for signs of WSD. If you think you have seen WSD please report it
immediately to our FishWatch 24 hour hotline on 1800 815 507.

When it comes to making eco-
friendly changes these are the little ones that really add up to make a difference.
Swap Household Cleaners
Switching to green cleaners reduces air pollution both indoors and out, minimizing exposure to both asthma and allergy triggers as well as chemicals that can be harmful to your health. Look for plant-based products from companies that have a complete list of ingredients on their labels.
Shop for Sustainably-Raised Meat
While sustainable isn’t a term certified like organic is, it generally means that the animal was given ample room to roam, and wasn’t treated with hormones or antibiotics. Look for labels like free-range and organic as well as no-hormone and no-antibiotic.
Reduce Use of Bug Sprays and Pesticides
To control pests, prevention is your best bet. Keeping your kitchen crumb-free and sealing any holes in the walls or cracks in the foundation means you won’t have to use harmful chemicals in your home. If you do require pest-control, reach for greener alternatives or home remedies first.
Leave Footwear at the Door
Think of removing your shoes when you enter a home as the equivalent of washing your hands. First, it couldn’t be easier. And second, it prevents the outside gunk like car exhaust, chemicals, and pesticides from being tracked all over your home.
Microwave Glass, Never
Plastic
Heating plastics can cause leaching into food and many contain hormone-disrupting compounds (not just the much maligned versions made with bisphenol-A or BPA). Plastics that are labeled “microwave-safe” can simply withstand a higher temperature before losing their shape. So when popping anything in the microwave, opt for glass or microwave-safe ceramics.
Choose Safe Pots and Pans
The materials you cook with do have an impact on your food. The three safest options are cast iron, enamel coated cast iron, and stainless steel. Non-stick pans, while convenient, can be problematic if you scrape the coating and it gets into your food.

Duties to stop, give assistance, report motor vehicle accidents
These are short articles about legal issues that may interest you. They are not legal advice. You should
always get individual legal advice for your situation.
When you are driving, there are duties to stop and assist and report any accident your motor vehicle is
involved in. This article is about the criminal offences involved if you do not comply with those duties.
Duty to stop and give assistance where person injured or dies
If you are driving a vehicle that is involved in an incident where another person is caused bodily harm (is
injured) or dies it is an offence:
not to stop and
not to give all the assistance you can, including making sure the person gets medical help.
It is a defence if you were not aware of the incident or if you could not comply because of your own injuries.
You can only be dealt with by the District Court (and not the Magistrates Court) if the other person died or if the other person suffers grievous bodily harm (this is harm where there is, or is likely to be, a risk of death, or
harm that is, or is likely to be, permanent).
If you are found guilty of either of these offences the maximum penalty is 20 years imprisonment if the other person died. The maximum is 14 years if the other person suffers grievous bodily harm. In both cases the
Court must disqualify your licence for not less than 2 years.
Where the other person injured suffers lesser harm than grievous bodily harm the matter can be dealt with either in the Magistrates Court or in the District Court. It will be dealt with in the Magistrates Court unless you or the Prosecutor make an application to have your matter dealt with by the District Court and the Magistrate
agrees. There are rules that the Magistrate must apply in making this decision.
If you are found guilty of this offence in the Magistrates Court the maximum penalty is 3 years imprisonment. In the District Court the maximum is 10 years imprisonment. The Court must disqualify your licence for not
less than 12 months.
Duty to stop where there is property damage
If you are driving a vehicle that is involved in an incident which causes any property damage, it is an offence not to stop. The penalty is a fine up to $1,500 and the Court may disqualify your licence for as long as it sees fit. If you have a provisional licence, it is cancelled and you are disqualified from getting a licence for 3
months, or for the period of disqualification, whichever is longer.
Duty to give your details where person injured or dies or where there is property damage
If you are driving a vehicle that is involved in an incident that causes injury or death or property damage, it is an offence not to give your name and address and that of the person responsible for the vehicle when asked
to do so by the victim, or a representative of the victim, or the Police.
The maximum penalty for this offence is a fine up to $1,500. It is a defence if you could not comply because of your own injuries. If you have a provisional licence, it is cancelled and you are disqualified from getting a
licence for 3 months.
Duty to report accident to Police
If you are driving a vehicle that is involved in an incident which causes injury, or property damage more than $3,000 in total, it is an offence if you do not report the incident to the officer in charge of a police station
promptly.
The penalty if property damage only is caused is a maximum fine of $400 if it is your first offence, and a maximum of $800 for a subsequent offence. If you have a provisional licence, it is cancelled and you are
disqualified from getting a licence for 3 months.
If you do not report the incident and death or grievous bodily harm has been caused, you can be dealt with by the Magistrates Court or the District Court. The maximum penalty is imprisonment up to 12 months in the
Magistrates Court, and up to 10 years in the District Court.
If a lesser injury has been caused you can only be dealt with in the Magistrates Court. The maximum penalty is 12 months imprisonment. In all of these cases your licence must be disqualified for a minimum of 12 months. If you have a provisional licence, it is cancelled and you are disqualified from getting a licence for the
period of disqualification.

Boost your brainpower
Eating well is good for your mental as well as your physical health. The brain requires nutrients just like your heart, lungs or muscles do. But which foods are particularly important to keep our grey matter happy and healthy? Here is some food you can try out: Fatty Fish Seafood like salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, and sardines are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, powerful and versatile nutrients that are essential for a healthy mind. About 40% of the fatty acids in brain cell membranes are DHA, one of the main omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil.
Leafy Green and Cruciferous Veggies Pile salads, stir-fries, and side dishes with broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy, and brussels sprouts. They’re filled with antioxidants like vitamin C and plant compounds called carotenoids, which are particularly powerful brain protectors.
Avocado, Oils, Nuts, and Seeds They all contain another important antioxidant: vitamin E. In one study, researchers found that people who consumed moderate amounts vitamin E—from food, not supplements—lowered their risk of AD by 67%.
Chocolate Sweeten your brain-boosting diet with the dark kind (at least 70% cocoa); it contains flavonoids, another class of antioxidants that some research links to brain health. Other flavonoid-rich foods include apples, red and purple grapes, red wine, onions, tea, and beer. Curry Go for Thai or Indian takeout; these cuisines often use the potent spice known to fight inflammation. Animal studies have shown that curry’s active ingredient, curcumin, actually clears away Alzheimer’s-causing proteins in the brain called amyloid plaques.
The importance of exercise
Don't forget that as well as a healthy diet, exercise helps to keep our brains sharp. Research suggests that regular exercise improves cognitive function, slows down the mental aging process and helps us process information more effectively.

A seabird was flying around the airport edge near an idling airforce plane last weekend .. It was a Barua”s Petrel which is the
rarest bird ever
Seen on Cocos.. There are only 4000 pairs of these birds in the world and they gather to breed on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean.. The only records of these birds been seen near land is one sighting in Mozambique in 1987 and two sightings in Rich-ards Bay in South Africa in 1988 and 2003. The amazing thing was how aggressive this Petrel was towards a local Night heron and a male cocos chook who both got thumped in mid air. The funniest part was when Richard Baxter the bird tour leader yelled
out, PETREL ON THE RUNWAY , and some of his novice birdwatchers started looking for the fire truck..

How do I do it?
The object is to insert the numbers in the boxes to satisfy only one condition: each row, column and group of squares enclosed by the bold lines must contain the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. The rules for different size and shape puzzles are pretty much identical. The different size puzzles simply require a different set of numbers.
