Catechism of the Catholic Church Part one gives us a sound explanation of the Credo. This part concludes with summarizing several of the basic concepts of our faith that we are confronted with on a daily basis. It is worth paying attention to them. The following is literally from the Catechism, the conclusion of Part one. Every person receives his/her eternal recompense in his/her immortal soul from the moment of his/her death in a particular judgement by Christ (ccc1051). The souls of who die in Christ’s grace are the people of God beyond death. On the day of Resurrection these souls will be reunited with their bodies.(1052). The multitude of those gathered around Jesus and Mary in paradise forms the church in heaven, where in eternal blessedness they see God as He is (1053). They intercede for us and help our weakness. Those who die in God’s grace but imperfectly purified will undergo a purification after death to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of God, in common parlance, purgatory (1054). By virtue of the “communion of saints” the church offers prayers, especially the Holy Mass on their behalf. Hell, following the example of Jesus, the church warns the faithful of the “sad and lamentable reality of eternal death” (1056). The principal punishment of Hell is the eternal separation from God. We are created for the life with God which is the basic longing of every soul. Church constantly prays that no one be lost, “ Lord, let me never be parted from you”. Church believes and confesses that on the Day of Judgement, all will appear in their own bodies before Christ’s tribunal to render an account of their own deeds(1059). The final truth about our faith is that at the end of times, the Kingdom of God will come in its fullness. The just will reign with Christ forever, glorified in body and soul. Material world will be transformed. God will be all in all.
We need to remind our children of these basic truths about our faith, before their minds are corrupted by secular world.

El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica La primera parte nos da una explicación sólida del Credo. Esta parte concluye con un resumen de varios de los conceptos básicos de nuestra fe a los que nos enfrentamos diariamente. Vale la pena prestarles atención. Lo siguiente es literalmente del Catecismo, la conclusión de la primera parte. Cada persona recibe su recompensa eterna en su alma inmortal desde el momento de su muerte en un juicio particular de Cristo (ccc1051). Las almas de los que mueren en la gracia de Cristo son el pueblo de Dios más allá de la muerte. En el día de la Resurrección, estas almas se reunirán con sus cuerpos. (1052). La multitud de los reunidos alrededor de Jesús y María en el paraíso forma la iglesia en el cielo, donde en eterna bendición ven a Dios como Él es (1053). Interceden por nosotros y ayudan a nuestra debilidad. Aquellos que mueren en la gracia de Dios pero purificados imperfectamente serán sometidos a una purificación después de la muerte para lograr la santidad necesaria para entrar en la alegría de Dios, en el lenguaje común, el purgatorio (1054). Necesitamos recordarles a nuestros hijos estas verdades básicas sobre nuestra fe, antes de que sus mentes sean corrompidas por el mundo secular. Dios los bendiga a todos.

Hace casi 2000 años, Jesús declaró que “los zorros tienen guaridas, y las aves del cielo sus nidos; pero el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde reclinar la cabeza”. Lamentablemente en las calles y callejones del mundo este dicho se realiza diariamente en tantos abandonados por la sociedad que viven sin techo ni hogar. En los años 40 el santo jesuita, Alberto Hurtado de Chile quiso darle al Hijo del hombre un lugar donde reclinar su cabeza recogiendo a los niños y a los adultos indigentes.
Su ejemplo llamó la atención de otros cristianos que se unieron a sus esfuerzos y así en 1944 fundaron la asociación benéfica “Hogar de Cristo”. Este hogar se dedica aun todavía a acoger, educar y rehabilitar a los necesitados dándoles las herramientas necesarias para poder depender de si mismos. También vela por sus almas dándoles una formación total de cuerpo, alma y espíritu.
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION When Pope Pius XII died in 1958, there was the usual buzz of speculation about likely successors. Cardinal Agajanian, Patriarch of the Armenians, was highly thought of as a likely choice. This took many Catholics by surprise, since he had never celebrated the same liturgy as Pope Pius, but followed ancient Armenian customs according to the Eastern Church, which veils the Eucharisic liturgy from sight by a series of curtains, and in which the priest kneels while the people stand for Communion.
Faith and hope are closely united in today’s readings. The Israelites knew when the Passover was coming, and so were not in fear, but had faith and courage, “putting into effect with one accord the divine institution.” In this we can see a foretelling of the Eucharist that we celebrate according to Christ’s command, “Do this in memory of me.”
En las lecturas de hoy la fe y la esperanza están muy unidas. Los israelitas sabían cuando la Pascua se acercaba, y eso no les atemorizaba, sino que tenían fe y animo; “y de común acuerdo se impusieron esta ley sagrada”. En esto podemos vislumbrar un anuncio de la Eucaristía que celebramos de acuerdo al mandato del Señor Jesús “Hagan esto en memoria mía”.
**Sacrament of Baptism—Baptism is a highly sacred event and deserves careful and complete readiness. Please contact the church office (336-629-0221) to register for the Baptism Preparation Class, which is done on a regular basis. Parents must be registered and participating members of our parish community **Sacrament of Marriage - Couples should contact the Pastor (336-629-0221) at least 6 months prior to the wedding date for necessary preparation.
**Ministry of the Sick— Please call the church office (336-629-0221) to inform us of an illness or hospitalization of a family member. Federal Privacy Law prohibits the hospital from giving room numbers, so we must have prior knowledge of a pa-tient’s room number before we visit the hospital. The Sacrament of Anointing is done upon request prior to surgery or a illness.

Send Thy Holy Spirit to kindle the hearts of priests, deacons, religious and all the faithful, especially the children, so that devout participation in the Holy Mass and frequent and daily Holy Communion may be held in honor in all the countries of the world; and grant that the Kingship of Thy Sacred Heart over human society may everywhere be acknowledged to the glory of God the Father.
