Semester 1 Reports Students will receive their Semester 1 reports next week. These will be modified reports focusing on the learning that has taken place this year and which includes individual student’s progress and achievement of the learning in Mathematics and English with guidance to move learning forward (learning goals). All achievement will be assessed on what teachers have been able to observe, within the classroom, during the reduced time they have had in the classroom. The A-E scale normally used will not be utilised this Semester, but will be used for our Semester 2 reports.

Sport in Schools Australia This week we are very excited to welcome back our SISA teachers. All classes will have their 2 hours of SISA lessons this Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their hat and drink bottle on Wednesday. Kinder Enrolments 2021 We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2021. If you have a child or know someone with a child who will be starting kindergarten next year, please contact the office for the necessary forms. We will soon be starting organisation for orientation.

Spare Clothes Return We are in short supply of spare clothes in the office. If your child has borrowed some clothes because of an accident at school, please wash and return them as soon as possible. We don’t have many clothes on hand for these incidents . If your child needs a spare change of clothes and we don’t have any to give them, we will need to call you to bring some to the school for them.

Medication at School

The administration of medication forms part of the Department’s common law duty of care to take reasonable steps to keep students safe while they attend school.

The administration of prescribed medication in schools is carried out by staff who volunteer and who are trained. Except in an emergency, only individual staff members who have volunteered and been trained will administer prescribed medication to students.

Parents /carers of children who require prescribed medication to be administered at school must complete a written request (available from the office). Medication can be sent to school in a Webster pack from the chemist. If this is not possible the medication must be provided to school in original packaging. A register will be kept of all medication received at school. Students must not carry medications unless there is a written agreement between the school and the student’s parents/carers.

Non-Prescribed Medications: Schools generally do not administer medication that hasn’t been prescribed for an individual student’s specific condition. In some cases the medical practitioner may not write a prescription for such medication because it may be available “over the counter”. These “over the counter” medications may still be harmful and therefore the same procedures will be followed for prescribed medications.
