• The team captain is expected to be a leader for all the team members. Keep them motivated!– Encourage team members– Be sure all team members are properly registered & have the right

tools.– Make sure everyone is on their way to Tierra del Fuego!– Have your own log-in page through which you can see how many

steps each member logged for the week.– Remind participants to record their steps at least 2-3 times a week, if

they aren’t synced.– Send pictures of you and your team’s activities (e.g. walking your pet)

or even inspirational quotes.– Nominate a Walk Star each week!

Be a Walk Star

• At the end of each of the 10 walking sessions, team captains can nominate a Walk Star. This person should be someone in your group who deserves to be recognized for encouraging others, works hard to meet their step goals, has made healthy lifestyle changes, etc.

• Please give a detailed description of why the nominee is deserving of the recognition.

Rewards

• Individual Rewards:  Individual participants can earn up to two (2) rewards during the Challenge period.  To earn points toward your prizes, you must log at least 50 days of steps during the 100-day challenge using your WashU WebMD Portal.  If you achieve 500,000 or 1 million steps you will be eligible for an individual reward.

• Team Rewards:  Team rewards will be based on the average of the steps each team member has taken. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Teams will receive a commemorative medal.  Teams that average 1 million steps will also be recognized. In order for your steps to count toward the team’s total, you must have at least 50 days of steps recorded through your WashU WebMD Portal.
