• Vital Statistics -- funding to States reduced $1.5 million (one month) – concerns about funding for new regs and system improvements

• Impact from CDC-wide appropriations is unclear

• Continued cost increases will have to be absorbed

• Further survey reductions will be needed to address the impact of permanent funding at this level
