Garden Helpers

Every Saturday morning a handful of parishioners gather to tend the gardens around the church and parish house. We tend to weeding, deadheading, mulching, pruning, spraying, planting, clipping, separating and re-potting, cultivating, and tending to the vegetable garden. Anyone interested in joining this group of green thumbed and wonderfully hearted folk – love to see you on Saturday morning at 8 AM.

Scripture Study/Catholic Studies

The Tuesday Catholic Studies program is pleased to announce a DVD lecture series entitled ‘Fables and Faith: Understanding The Gospel with Ae-sop's Fables’, beginning Tuesday, July 17th, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, in the parish hall, for six weeks. No previous experience is necessary. Course notes will be provided to help in follow-ing and absorbing the course content. This unique video lecture series uses the fables of Aesop, Fontaine and others to help illuminate the Gospel message. If you are looking to deepen your Christian spirituality while enjoying some delightful stories, you will surely enjoy this se-ries. Why not join us as we explore our Catholic identity together in a friendly supportive small group setting. If you are interested, please contact Tim Sullivan at Timothy.Sullivan17842@gmail.com or 781-326-2834. You can also call the rectory at(781-329-9575) by July 8. There is no fee, but a free will offering for the parish will be solicited toward the end of the course to help with costs. Come and See!

Summer Time Parish Outings It’s now official, Summer is here. Send your ideas for day-trip outings to the rectory for consideration as we plan our summer calendar. Include you favorite beaches, destinations, muse-ums, movies, theaters, restaurants, concert venues, deep sea fishing, whale watching, special events, etc. Try to choose places that are within a two hour drive from Boston as most of our trips are day trips. If there is something special outside that range we could do an overnight . Thank you.

Adult Faith Formation Saint Susanna's Adult Faith Formation Mon-day evening series of programs has come the end of its 2017-2018. But the Adult Faith For-mation Commission's salt mines never close, and all of us are already hard at work building a new schedule for the 2018-2019 season. Speakers are being engaged, and dates are be-ing selected. If things go as planned, we will have the Season Schedule ready for publication in August. The entire schedule will be posted on our web page: (www.saintsusanna.org, Faith Formation, Adult). If you would like us to email you a copy of the schedule and program notices, send a request to adults-stsusanna@hotmail.com. We wish you a happy and healthy summer. See you in the fall.

Parish Trip to Ireland

Many parishioners have expressed an interest for a parish trip to Ireland. There are flyers at the back of the church for a tentative trip in April 2019. Durgan Travel is pleased to offer us a 9/days-7 nights tour of the Emerald Isle The tour will in-clude the best of Ireland including some extra perks like a trip to Skellig Island, Newgrange and the Giants Causeway. Please contact the Rectory (781-329-9575) if you are interested so that we may gauge the interest in this particular trip. Thank you!

House of Peace/Service Project Thank you!

Some of our confirmation students and adult parishioners visited the House of Peace in Ips-wich and helped out around the house this past Monday. Thank you to Carrie and John Schu-chardt for their hospitality. They have shared their home with hundreds of children and fami-lies from war zones over these past twenty-eight years. Their life is a work of love shining in the darkest corners of this world.
