REVISION DESCRIPTION
TR 11-1001, FEBRUARY 2020
The changes to Section 11.1 were initiated to address the potential of having excess sealant at locations within the wing structure. Sealant is defined as excessive if it covers structure beyond what was initially considered when the SSID was developed.
The following SSID inspections may have excess sealant prohibiting the required inspections: W-1A, W-1B, W-2, W-3, W-4, W-6A, W-6B, W-7, W-8, W-10B, W-10C, W-11A, W-13, W-15, W-18A, W-19B, W-20B, W-22A, W-22B, W-22C, W-27, W-28A, W-28B, W-29A, W-29B, W-29C, W-30, W-33. The DTR check forms have been modified to add a note to remove excess sealant or inspection options were removed.

11.5 Additional Notes for DTR Check Forms
Note 1 (W-1A, W-1B, W-2, W-3, W-4, W-18A, W-22B and W-22C)
Prior to in-tank internal inspections, identify all cap sealant on fasteners of the chord and web that exceeds 0.1 in and fillet sealant on the skin that exceeds
0.1 in. Prior to inspection remove all sealant on the chord, web and skin if any sealant specified above are identified. After inspection replace fillet and cap
sealant if required to ensure continuous compliance with 727 fuel tank ignition prevention requirements of AMM 28-11-0-801.
Note 2 (W-6A, W-6B, W-7, W-8, W-11A, W-27, W-28A, W-28B, W-29A, W-29B, W-29C, W-30 and W-33)
Prior to in-tank internal inspections, identify all cap sealant on fasteners of the stringer that exceeds 0.1 in and fillet sealant on the skin that exceeds 0.1 in.
Prior to inspection remove all sealant on the stringer and skin if any sealant specified above are identified. After inspection replace fillet and cap sealant if
required to ensure continuous compliance with 727 fuel tank ignition prevention requirements of AMM 28-11-0-801.
Note 3 (W-10B and W-10C)
Prior to in-tank internal inspections, identify all cap sealant on fasteners of the splice plate, splice fitting and stringer that exceeds 0.1 in and fillet sealant that
exceeds 0.1 in. Prior to inspection remove all sealant on the splice plate, splice fitting and stringer if any sealant specified above are identified. After
inspection replace fillet and cap sealant if required to ensure continuous compliance with 727 fuel tank ignition prevention requirements of
AMM 28-11-0-801.

Note 4 (W-13 and W-15)
Prior to in-tank internal inspections, identify all cap sealant on fasteners of the fitting and chord that exceeds 0.1 in and fillet sealant that exceeds 0.1 in. Prior
to inspection remove all sealant on the fitting and chord if any sealant specified above are identified. After inspection replace fillet and cap sealant if required
to ensure continuous compliance with 727 fuel tank ignition prevention requirements of AMM 28-11-0-801.
Note 5 (W-19B and W-20B)
Inspections from both sides are required. Prior to in-tank internal inspections, identify all cap sealant on fasteners of the chord and web that exceeds 0.1 in
and fillet sealant on the web that exceeds 0.1 in. Prior to inspection remove all sealant on the chord and web if any sealant specified above are identified.
After inspection replace fillet and cap sealant if required to ensure continuous compliance with 727 fuel tank ignition prevention requirements of
AMM 28-11-0-801.
