Master Directory System

Renamed “Self” to “School” in

Introduction

This mobile app is created to initialize new schools under U-DISE system. Many schools in

India do not have unique U-DISE code and are not covered under U-DISE system resulting

incomplete education information. This app provides a flexible way i.e self-registration using

which new school can registers itself under U-DISE system. Once the registration request is

approved by block level officials, school will be added in U-DISE system with a U-DISE code.

Cluster and block level officials can also initialize schools. Doing this, we have a master list of

schools which are registered in U-DISE along with which are initialized but not approved by block level

Admin Permission

1. Only Cluster and Block level officers can initialize the school.

2. Schools initialized by cluster user have “Pending” status by default and await approval from

block level user.

3. Only Cluster and Block level officers can update the school in master list for current academic

4. Only Block level officers can approve/reject the school.

5. Only cluster level officers can update cluster of school.

Functionality and working

Splash screen

Once user has installed and opened the mobile app, he/she will be shown a splash

screen showing app name, organization logo and organization name.

Home screen

This is the main screen of app and different for different user level. For example, School

user cannot see master directory so master directory section is hidden for school user.

Below are the screens visible to different level users.

Login screen

This is the login screen from where user can login. User will enter his user ID and

password as described below and click on “Sign-in” button. User will be re-directed to

Home screen after successful login.

How to logout

If user is logged in and wants to log out from app, he can do this by clicking on logout button in

navigation drawer as shown below.

School registration

Admin users and non-admin users both can initialize the school. Below are the steps to register the

school.

Non-admin user

1. First of all user will click on “Register School” on home page.

2. Select school location screen- This is first screen in school registration process from where

users can select school location. Here user will select state, district, block and village of

school. If user is already login, then the location associated with user will be pre-selected

which user cannot change further.

3. School Registration screen- This is second screen in school registration process from

where users will enter the school details and register the school under U-DISE system.

4. Preview details screen – After clicking on continue button, User will be shown this

screen to confirm the details filled by him/her. User can click on edit button to edit the

details or confirm the details.

5. Mobile number verification screen - After user confirms the details filled by him/her, he will be

re-directed to this screen to verify the mobile number entered by him/her.

6. Success screen – Once the user center the OTP and click on verify button, school is successfully

initialized and user will be redirected to success screen.

Admin user

1. User will click on “Register School” on home page.

2. Select school location screen- This is first screen in school registration process from where

users can select school location. Here user will select state, district, block and village of

school. If user is already login, then the location associated with user will be pre-selected

Initialized school listing screen

To view the complete list of initialized school, click on the “School Initialization” from home screen. List

of schools will be shown as below.

User can also filter the result using filter shown below. School listing will be shown according to user

level. For example, village user can see schools of his village only while district level use can see list of

school initialized in his district.

View school registration status screen (For block level users)

After clicking on school from listing, below screen will be opened if user is block level user and

registration status is pending.

1. On approve button click

Once the user clicks on approve button, he/she will be prompted for confirmation. After

confirming school will be added in U-DISE system and following success screen will be shown

to user.

2. On Reject Click

Once the user clicks on the reject button he will be asked to choose reason. After choosing

reason and clicking on “Ok” button, school will be rejected and following screen will be opened.

View school registration status screen (For cluster level users)

After clicking on school from listing, below screen will be opened if user is cluster level user and

registration status is approved. Here cluster user will mark the cluster of school.

After clicking on “Mark cluster” button, user will be prompted to select cluster ID, clicking on “OK”

button will successful update the cluster of school.

Master School Directory

This list contains existing school of UDISE along with initialized schools which are approved by block level

officials. User clicks on “Master School Directory” and following screen will be get open.

To open the filters, click on “Filter” icon from action bar. Following filter screen will get open.

After clicking on any school the list, school detail page will get open.

If user level is cluster or block and current academic year has been selected in filter, then “Edit”

icon will be visible on action bar on school details screen. After clicking on edit icon, edit school

screen will get open.

Once user update the details and click on “Save” button, school data will be updated for current

academic year and following success screen will get open.
