Overview of title
The Marketing Manager contributes to the organisational goals through theapplication of various marketing techniques as well as effective management of thecompany’s marketing resources, to build brand equity that leads to customerengagement, acquisition and retention, which in turn contribute to the overall Groupprofit.
Duties & Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities that I have performed• Lead the development of a brand strategy that will support the businessobjectives. This was done in conjunction with key internal stakeholders as wellas external agencies.• Develop and execute marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to ensure the growth and expansion of company products and/or services.• Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographicfactors so that market opportunities may capitalized on, and the effects ofcompetitive activity may be minimized.• Plans and oversees the brand's advertising and promotion activities including tv,radio, print, outdoor, digital, direct mail, events, activations and partnerships.• Manages external advertising agencies to drive the specified marketinginitiatives. - This includes the briefing of the agencies on campaigns and takingthe activities all the way through to approving of final go-to-market creative.Actively managing the agency’s performance and fee structures through aformalised and structured process is key to the Marketing Manager’s outputs.• Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relationto pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry andthe economy.• Work closely with the Marketing Exec, Media Planners and Buyers to ensure the correct target market is penetrated as well as ensuring that the marketing activities /performance is tracked and measured.• Works with internal writers and artists to brief and approve copywriting, design,layout, and production of promotional materials.• Ensures effective control of marketing results, and that corrective action takesplace to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are withindesignated budgets.• Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs to ensure the timelyadjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market andcompetitive conditions.• Prepares marketing activity reports.• Manages and controls the marketing budget.• Actively seeks new and innovative ways to make the brand stand out amongstthe general brand clutter by conceptualising radical new ideas in leveragingtraditional media, digital media, partnerships, events and other. In essencemarketing innovation is key to the Marketing Manager’s role.• Presents on an ongoing basis strategies, marketing plans, marketing performance, to various forums in the organisation. This could vary from functional areas inthe business to CEO level.
• Responsible for all aspects of staff resourcing, succession planning, management and development ensuring the right people are in place to supportservice delivery, achieving production and performance targets at all times.• Support the Treating Customers Fairly principles by providing direction andmonitoring the delivery of the TCF behaviors and outcomes.
