A Brief HistoryIn January of 2004, McDonald's heiress Joan Kroc left a large endowment to The Salvation Army for the special purpose of building and helping to operate a new collection of corps community centers across the country. After 20 months and three competitive phases, The Salvation Army of Salem was awarded a portion of that endowment to build and operate a Kroc Center here in our own community.

The Salvation Army MissionThe Salvation Army, an international movement, is

an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.

Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is

motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach

the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs

in His name without discrimination. Est. 1865

Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The

Salvation Army each year through a wide array of social

services that range from providing food for the hungry,

relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, out-

reach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the

homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.

About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support

those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.

The Kroc MissionThe Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Commu-

nity Center of Salem, OR embodies the very best of

The Salvation Army’s service and mission impact for

the 21st century. The Salvation Army is committed to

producing tangible outcomes that will build character,

confi dence and competence in children and families

of the Mid-Willamette Valley region and throughout

the State of Oregon.

ATTENTION, Minimum Age Policy: In compliance with ORS 163.545, children under the age of 10 must be

accompanied and supervised by an adult at alltimes in all areas.

DHS states, “A child should not be left in a position of authority or be left alone in situations beyond his ability to handle. Each child must be looked at individually to make sure he or she is physically and emotionally able to handle the given responsibil-ity. The law does not specify the age at which a child can be left alone. However, a child under 10 cannot be left unattended for such a period of time as may likely endanger their health or welfare.“

Code of ConductThe Kroc Center seeks to provide a safe and encouraging environment

for all. With this in mind, it is important for all who participate to share a

community approach for caring for each other and the facility resources.

The policies are designed with that community approach in mind. If a

member is unwilling or unable to abide by these policies, Kroc leadership

has the right to refuse service on a daily or permanent basis.

Child SafetyThe Salvation Army is dedicated to keeping children and vulnerable adults

safe from physical, emotional, and sexual harm. We refer to our safety

efforts as “Protecting The Mission.”

Members and guests are encouraged to report suspicious behavior. Forms

for anonymous reporting, called Confi dential Notices of Concern, are

available at any Guest Service Desk.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the fa-

cility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply

with any posted rules and regulations or otherwise breaches the Code of

Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues.

Short Term Child & Youth WatchWe are pleased to provide a safe and interactive environment for our

youngest Kroc Center Guests. Child Care for children ages 4 months

to 9 years is available. Child/Youth Watch is staffed with well-qualifi ed

employees and volunteers who are properly trained in fi rst aid, CPR/

AED, and child safety. Our Child/Youth Watch Employees strive to keep

children engaged, safe, and excited to come back for another Child

Watch experience.

CONDUCT/CONDUCTA«

Referimos a nuestros
