They were joined by four Yr11 VA students who expressed an interest in attending the excursion. Two highlights of the trip were the Matisse and Picasso exhibition, this fitted in perfectly with the study of modernism, cubism and fauvism. We also visited the National Portrait gallery, where educators took us through some of the collection during which ideas, techniques and influences were discussed. R C S F X H S AHS has been successful in defeating XHS in the Rixon Cup Semi Final. The game was played on the turf wicket at XHS on Tuesday 18 February.

Albury HS won the toss and elected to bat. At 2/10 things looked shaky! At 3/50 order had been restored. Then a succession of run outs meant 121 was the final total.

Max Diffey top scored with 48. A 10th wicket partnership of between Bailey Hodgson, 25 and Lochie Semmler 13no, extended the Albury HS total and proved crucial in the final result.

XHS then went in to chase 121 and seemed to be cruising to victory at 3/72. But a collapse quickly saw them 7/80. In what was a nervous part of the game, a run out secured victory with XHS falling 17 runs short.

Chief destroyers were Bailey Hodgson 3/29, Jake Cooper 2/17 and Praveen Pathmanathan 2/15.

Our next game is the final against Corowa High School. Mr Tim Sanson

C 2020 The AHS Canteen operates Monday to Friday from 8.30am, when breakfast is served. Our healthy “accredited” canteen, offers a “Daily Special”, Gluten free food as well as the regular menu.

Orders for lunches can be placed during the Breakfast or 1st Recess services. Hand them in at the side servery (Milkshake area). Ordering early ensures your child received what they would like for lunch. If they choose to join the lengthy queues at lunch time, they may miss out as some items sell out quickly.

Parents and Guardian helpers are always welcome. If you are able to spare an hour or two per week, please contact Vick or Kim on PH: 6021 1730.
