WEEKLY READINGS FOR A PRIL 5TH, PALM SUNDAY
These last few weeks have been very difficult for all of us. The closing of our churches has
been particularly unsettling. Many feel isolated and alone, perhaps cut off from God, the
Church, and the sacraments. But God is with us, and God will see us through this time of
uncertainty and crisis.
I want to thank Fr. Josh for posting our Masses on our parish website and on Facebook. He
spends hours each week working on editing and uploading the videos. Next week be sure to
checkout our website Annunciationnewington.com where the Masses and services of Holy
Week will be available. The celebration of the Mass is also available to us daily on WCCT-TV
Channel 20 at 10:00 AM, and several times every day on EWTN.
Blessed Palms will be available for pick up on Saturday, April 4, from 3-4 PM and on Palm
Sunday, APRIL 5, from 8 AM – 12 Noon at both St. Mary’s and Holy Spirit Church. We ask you
to please be considerate of others by following the guidelines of the CDC on social distancing.
Finally, please know that all of you are in our prayers each day. We miss your presence here
at Mass and we look forward to the day, which we hope is not too far off, when we will gather
again to celebrate the Eucharist together in person. Please continue to pray for each other as a
community of the faithful, which is what we remain even when we are not able to be together
physically. Our Lord will guide us through this crisis, so continue to pray, continue to hope,
and may we be united again soon as the great parish community that we are. We are the body
of Christ. We are the Church.
