A variance means that the landowner (Glock) wants permission to override development regulations that are designed to protect our community, in this case, a stream. Our community should not be sacrificed for the benefit of 1 landowner. The City Council has the power to grant variances. Glock has power, money and attorneys. Our strength is in large numbers of concerned citizens. It doesn’t matter whether you live in Smyrna or not. Citizens throughout Smyrna need to recognize that our current City Council is more concerned with helping boost industrial development than in protecting the quality of life of the residents. It is untenable that the City could permit this type of zoning without considering the impact on its residents. NOTE: This is NOT an anti-gun site. The majority of residents involved in this issue have no problems with guns, the 2nd Amendment, or gun manufacturing. The problem is with the location of the gun manufacturing facility so very close to residential neighborhoods of young families. The Home Owners Association is looking for volunteers will- ing to dedicate their time on weekends to assist cutting the lawns of those who are physically unable to do so at this time. Please contact Aaron Jerrells or Samuel Hicks. Thank you for your assistance. HELP NEEDED!
