At the annual Nambucca Valley Community of Public Schools Education Week Awards Evening – held on
Thursday 2nd August at Frank Partridge VC Public School – four members of the Bowraville Central School
community were honoured for their wonderful contributions.
Samuel Goodwin (Primary Student Award), Brittny Young (Secondary Student Award), Allana Grace (Community
and Administrative Leadership), and Craig Northfield (School Leadership) made us all proud with their
thoroughly deserved awards. In addition, it was also announced on the night by Ms. Robyn O’Neill, School
Education Director, Mid-North Coast, that Sam, Brittny, and Allana had also been awarded the North Coast
Regional Director’s Awards for their achievements.
Congratulations all.
Have a great week. I do hope that as many people as possible try to attend this Thursday’s P&C meeting. Please
come along and enjoy contributing to our ever-improving school.

Boys Touch Football
Friday 27th
July saw the Primary Boy’s touch team
travel to Coffs Harbour for the PSSA Knockout
Gala Day.
The Boys had a bye in the first round before
meeting Repton in the second round. The team
worked well as a unit with all 11 players
contributing to keep them in the game.
The match was a tight affair with the final score
being Repton 2 Bowraville 1. The boys were
unlucky not to have drawn the match with one try
being called back.
This meant that the boys were now out of
contention for the major competition but they
didn’t slacken off for their next match against
Sandy Beach.
The boys scored an early try and then the game
see-sawed until the finish with Bowraville taking it
out 5-4.
A big thanks to those parents who helped out on
the day and well done to the boys.
PSSA District Athletics
Last Friday 3rd
August 11 girls and 16 boys
represented Bowraville Central at the Nambucca
District PSSA Athletics Carnival at Nambucca

All our students competed well and to the best of
their ability and represented our school with great
enthusiasm.
Our students achieved fantastic results in both
Track and Field events. The top 2 placed
competitors are now eligible to compete at the

Year 12 Hospitality
Last week I took our Yr 12 Hospitality class –
Aemyn Connolly, Brittny Young, Mona Kelly,
Annette Kelly, and Maddison Wilkes, to Bonville
Golf Resort. We are completing a unit on Updating
Knowledge and Environmental Sustainability in
the Hospitality Industry. This unit requires an
excursion to a resort or hotel. Macksville High
students were keen to join us, as it was so
successful last year. We updated our knowledge
about legislation, safety food programs, different
departments and recycling. We also had time to fit
in a delicious lunch. Eve Riches

Bowraville Theatre Café - Last Thursday of every
month!
As you may be aware our Year 11 Hospitality class
is opening the Bowraville Theatre Café the last
Thursday of every month. The Students make
espresso style coffees, sandwiches, wraps and
serve cakes and other sweet treats. All food and
beverages are also available as takeaways. This
gives our students a wonderful opportunity to
serve “real” customers, set up for service, use a
commercial coffee machine, organise and prepare
food and close down after service. The café is
open from 9.30am to 12.30am and the popular
cake and coffee offer is only $5.00! The next
opening date is 30th August.
Life Education
The Life Education Van is coming next month for
Primary classes. Notes were sent out last week
with payment options.
