P uede ser que el templo se vea co-mo un templo Ca-

tólico o que tienen allí una imagen de la Vir-gen de Guadalupe o de otros Santos Católicos. También puede ser que el pastor se viste como sacerdote y que allí dan ‘Misas’. Nada de esto garantiza que son Cató-licos verdaderos en co-munión con el Papa Francisco.

Tristemente, hay un numero creciente de sectas nuevas que insisten que son 'Católicas' pero rechazan la autoridad del Papa y las demás doctrinas Católicas. Confunden a la gente no instruida que va en busca de los Sacramentos de la Iglesia.

¡Cuidado con aquellas sectas! Y dese cuenta: un Católico debe asistir a Misa y recibir los Sacramentos solamente en una parroquia ‘registrada’ con la Iglesia Católica, Apostólica y Romana. Si no, los llamados ‘Sacramentos’ recibidos no son lícitos en los ojos de la Iglesia Católica, Apostólica y Romana.

installed stained glass win-dow in honor of St. Nicho-las. The window is dedicated to the memory of late Stella Wojtyniak, long time parish-ioner and former secretary (many years ago) of Holy Innocents Parish. The St. Nicholas window is the first in a series of 6 “Christmas

Saints” windows which will adorn our histor-ic parish church. Production is underway for the next window: our patron saints, the HO-LY INNOCENTS. This window is being sponsored by Mr. Maurizio Cappelletti and will be dedicated to his late son, Marco A. Cappelletti.

These custom, superior quality, handcrafted windows are being fabricated by The Judson Studios, Los Angeles. Inquiries regarding sponsorship of the remaining 4 windows can be made directly to the pastor.

CONFIRMATION and/or FIRST COMMUNION FOR TEENS

We are now accepting registra-tions for our TEEN CONFIRMA-TION & FIRST COMMUNION program.

The first part consists of a TWO-WEEK INTENSIVE INTRO-DUCTION TO THE FAITH. The teens attend classes for 15 consec-utive days starting Monday, Au-gust 22 and ending Monday, Sep-tember 5. We pack into these two weeks one year of catechism espe-cially geared to teens. They actu-

ally like these classes and look forward to returning each day.

The second part consists of attendance at a weekly class on Thursday evenings and participation at Sunday Mass at 9:00 a.m. Mass attendance is NOT optional.

Sometime in the Spring (it’s the bishop who sets the date), those who fulfill the program requirements will receive their Sacrament.

To register, go to the rectory office and bring with you (if you have it) the baptismal certificate and the initial fee of $50. Students must be at least 14 years of age by August 22.

CONFIRMACIÓN PARA ADOLESCENTES

Y a estamos aceptando registros para el programa de Confirmación y/o Prime-

ra Comunión para los adolescentes de las edades entre 14 y 18 años.

La primera fase consiste de 2 semanas in-tensivas de clases básicas sobre la Fe Cató-lica. Los estudiantes asisten a clases por 15 días consecutivos comenzando el LUNES 22 de AGOSTO a las 6:45pm y terminando el LUNES 5 de SEPTIEMBRE. En el periodo de 2 semanas los jóvenes reciben el equivalente de un año de instrucción catequéti-ca. Los estudiantes gozan y aprenden de estas clases.

La segunda fase consiste de la asistencia a una clase semanal y también de participar en la Misa de 9:00am todos los domingos. Los que cumplen con los requisitos del programa recibirán su Sacramento en la primavera del 2017.

Para inscribir a su hijo o hija, vayan a la oficina lo más pronto posible. Cupo limitado. Debe traer el acta de Bautismo (si lo tiene a mano) más la cuota inicial de 50 dlls.

A NEW DEACON FROM OUR PARISH One of Holy Innocents’ 4 seminarians will be ordained to the transitional diaconate this coming Saturday. Our own Robert McGowan, along with 7 other men, will become a deacon, which is the final step before being ordained to the priesthood in 2017.

In Kenya they are especially involved in the education of future priests and in working with those in need. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
