These algae are invading the shores of Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, and Martinique, impacting the coastlines. Their accumulation has disastrous consequences on the environment and health while also threatening the economy. The evaluation of the extension of the phenomenon is of prime importance for the regional authorities The present map shows the event delineation for algae bloom in the area of Cul-de-Sac (Saint Martin, FR). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image by means of visual interpretation. The estimated geometric accuracy is 8 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
