Hello fellow Corgis, Summer has been a blast! I hope you have all been enjoying a cool, fun-filled summer along with a little

service! Just a reminder that Key Club is a community-based institution that actively participates in service throughout the whole year. Even though you should be relaxing and enjoying your summer, do not forget about actively participating in the wonders of community service. Also, you should be using this time to plan out events

that are going to happen throughout the school year instead of stressing out about planning events along with school and other co-curricular activities. Like always, DCMs are the third Wednesday of every month unless noted otherwise. For August's DCM, we plan to have it at a lake/river and host a clean up/get-

together so please look forward to that. Also, Region Training Conference (RTC) will be on August 24. Please arrange plans to attend with your home club. It will be a educational and memorable experience! Attend workshops to educate yourself and to better your home club. Also dance the day away with the Dance to Eliminate

dance we will be hosting where we will have fundraisers to raise funds for the Eliminate Project. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I am always available for help. I will catch all of you corgis later! Answering the call for service,

Happy summer, Division 05 North! I hope you are all enjoying summer activities in the sun! July is ending very soon, and August will be rolling over in just a bit. Remember to continue attending service

events and earning money for Pediatric Trauma Program! Additionally, don’t forget to plan ahead for promoting Key Club to incoming underclassmen when school starts! Appeal to them: be friendly and SMILE! Don’t procrastinate on your summer homework, everybody! I’ve got a golden ticket,

JUNE DIVISION COUNSIL

MEETING The June Division Counsel Meeting was a very informative meeting at the Selma Lane Park. Many of Division 05 North Key Clubbers were able to attend. Lieutenant

Governor Eric Kor discussed possible future service events and fundraisers, in addition to members’ inputs. After the DCM, the Executive Assistants helped conduct a fundraiser with water balloons. Every three water balloons cost one dollar, which went toward PTP funds. Many members donated and soaked each other with water balloons. Overall, the division made a great amount of money toward PTP! The event was very successful!

UPDATES FROM THE D05N CLUBS

Buchanan Key Club has had a busy past few weeks with events. On June 29th, the club put on their first fundraiser of the term, washing cars to raise money for Pediatric Trauma Program. The club was able to

donate $158.63 to help train doctors to save more children's lives. Not only did the club have a fundraiser, we also volunteered with Kiwanis at the 17th annual Special Olympics Fishing Derby. We woke up bright and early at 3am and served breakfast and lunch to the fishermen. It was a great bonding experience with the members as well as with our Kiwanis Club.

Serving with spirit,

Tracy Liu Club President 13-14

On the 4th of July, Clovis North Key Club, along with Andrew Tran from Buchanan, helped Kiwanis with the Freedom Fest at Buchanan High School. Clovis North Key Club had many volunteers helping out by selling tickets and working the parking lots. We were out there from 4PM to 9PM, and we were able to enjoy the fireworks afterwards.

On July 4th, Clovis West Key Club helped out at the local Freedom Run. We helped out for two days: the first day with registration and the second day with the actual race. During registration, we helped to register eager runners and to hand out socks and bibs. On the second day, many Key Clubbers went out to Woodward Park and helped register more

runners, set up various props and booths, and cooled the runners down at the end of the race. Our Key Clubbers had fun squirting runners with water guns! Not only were we able to display our patriotic side, but we also had fun doing it!
