DECEMBER 10th, 2017 SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT SECOND COLLECTION FOR RETIREMENT FUND FOR AGING RELIGIOUS Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious priests have offered their lives in service to otherseducating the young, comforting the sick, seeking justice for the oppressed. Today, many are frail, elderly, and in need of assistance. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious helps to furnish medications, nursing care, and other necessities. Please give generously to today’s second collec- tion. SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEK- Christmas Gift to the Church The second collection next week will be your Christmas gift to St. Michael’s. As you prepare to do all your Christmas shopping for your family members and those dear to you, we hope that you consider St. Michael’s dear to you. "THANK YOU" FOR CHRISTMAS SALE We thank all those who made this year's Christmas Sale a great success and a successful fundraiser for the Parish. we especially that Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Ibette Abell and their "team" who work very hard in the preparation and organization of the Sale. We also thank all the parishioners who donate items that were sold to help raise funds for the parish. We also thank the Vendors and all the "shoppers"!! PARISH COUNCIL Parish Council Meeting TODAY Sunday, Dec. 10th at 1:30pm in the Chapel. This will be the last Parish Council Meeting of 2017. FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE We will celebrate the Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday, December 11 and Tuesday 12, 2017. There will be a Mass at 7:30pm on Monday, December 11 (in Spanish) and on Tuesday, December 12 at 7:30pm. Flyers are available in church with full schedule. CONFESSIONS IN ADVENT We will have additional opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) during the Season of Advent. On Saturdays, there will be Confessions, beginning at 7:00pm and on Sunday Mornings at 6:30am (before the 7:00am Mass) . Also, on Wednesdays, December 13th and 20th, Confessions will be available in Church from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. “AGUINALDOS” MASSES-BEGINNING FRIDAY Dec. 15th We will continue the tradition of celebrating "Aguinaldo Masses" for the 9 Mornings before Christmas. The Aguinaldo Masses are celebrated at 5:30am each morning from Friday, Dec. 15th through Saturday, Dec. 24th (except Sunday, Dec. 17) and are followed by a simple breakfast, prepared by the different groups and societies of the parish. While the Aguinaldo Masses are celebrated in Spanish, we invite all parishioners to consider attending at least one morning to experience this beautiful tradition of spiritually preparing for the Birth of Jesus at Christmas. ARISE The mass on Friday, December 15th will be bilingual it will also be for all those who are involved in our Arise program at 7:30pm. here at St. Michael’s church. CHRISTMAS GIFT GIVING If you wish to be part of our annual Christmas Gift Giving during this Advent season, please purchase a present for a child ages infants (babies) to teenagers (especially for teenagers ). Please do not wrap these gifts. St. Michael’s parishioners have always been generous in giving, and hopefully can continue to provide a gift for a child. Please return all unwrapped gifts on or before Monday, Dec. 18 to either St. Michael’s church or to the office. Getting your presents in early will enable a child to receive it on time for Christmas. PLEASE DO NOT WRAP GIFTS you buy and wish to donate. Thank you again for your continued generosity in providing something special to a child during this season of giving! NEWLY REGISTERED PARISHIONERS - ENVELOPES For all those who Registered as parishioners during the past four (4) weeks, we have mailed packets of Donation Envelopes that can be used as of Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17. There are envelopes for each weekend up to and including, Sunday, February 4, 2018. When you receive the packet of Envelopes, you will no longer need to use the (Blue) "Temporary" Envelopes. For those who continue to use the Blue Temporary Envelopes, we ask you to please write (clearly) you Name, Address and Phone # (the same information that wrote on your Registration Form), so that we will be able to have an accurate record of your donations. If you have registered during the past month and do not receive the packet of envelopes in the mail by Thursday, December 14th. you can pick up a packet in the Rectory Office. ** If you have any questions about the envelopes, if you are an active parishioner and have NOT received your envelopes, CALL the Rectory Office (718-768- 6065) to let us know. THE 2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL This past March, the parishioners of St. Michael's made promises (pledges) to the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) totaling $65,524 , but thus far only $36,501 has been paid. Our Diocesan Goal is $39,425. Every dollar over that goal is returned to the parish and we can use it towards the Renovation of the Pope Francis Center. We have sent letters to the parishioners who have not yet been able to fulfill their pledge, asking that they try to do so or, if they can not give the full amount, that they try to help out in some way. We are always grateful for the generosity of our parishioners. If anyone has questions about the ACA or about their pledge, they can speak with Fr. Kevin and/or call the Rectory Office (718-768-6065). PARISH COUNCIL

Parish Council Meeting TODAY Sunday, Dec. 10th at 1:30pm

in the Chapel. This will be the last Parish Council Meeting of

2017.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE

We will celebrate the Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe on

Monday, December 11 and Tuesday 12, 2017. There will be a

Mass at 7:30pm on Monday, December 11 (in Spanish) and on

Tuesday, December 12 at 7:30pm. Flyers are available in

church with full schedule.

CONFESSIONS IN ADVENT

We will have additional opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament

of Reconciliation (Confession) during the Season of Advent. On

Saturdays, there will be Confessions, beginning at 7:00pm and

on Sunday Mornings at 6:30am (before the 7:00am Mass).

Also, on Wednesdays, December 13th and 20th, Confessions

“AGUINALDOS” MASSES-BEGINNING FRIDAY Dec. 15th

We will continue the tradition of celebrating "Aguinaldo Masses"

for the 9 Mornings before Christmas. The Aguinaldo Masses are

celebrated at 5:30am each morning from Friday, Dec. 15th

through Saturday, Dec. 24th (except Sunday, Dec. 17) and are

10 DE DICIEMBRE 2017– SEGUNDO DOMINGO DE ADVIENTO

SEGUNDA COLECTA PARA LOS RELIGIOSOS ANCIANOS

Los religiosos ancianos necesitan su ayuda. Estas hermanas,

hermanos y sacerdotes de órdenes religiosas católicas han

dedicado su vida en servicio a los demás, educaron a los jóvenes,

cuidaron a los enfermos y lucharon para que los oprimidos fueran

tratados con justicia. Hoy, muchos son ancianos y necesitan

atenciones. Su donación será para la Jubilación de Religiosos

ayuda con las recetas médicas, cuidados de enfermería y más. Sea

generoso con la segunda colecta de hoy.

La segunda colecta de la próxima semana será su regalo de

“GRACIAS" POR LA VENTA DE NAVIDAD

Agradecemos a todos aquellos que hicieron de la Venta de

Navidad de este año un gran éxito y una recaudación de fondos

exitosa para la Parroquia. especialmente, el Sr. y la Sra. Ray e

Ibette Abell y su "equipo" que trabajan fuerte en la preparación y

organización de la Venta. También agradecemos a todos los

feligreses que donaron artículos que fueron vendidos para ayudar

a recaudar fondos para la parroquia. ¡También agradecemos a los

vendedores y a todos los "compradores"!

CONSEJO PARROQUIAL

Nuestra reunión del Consejo Parroquial es Hoy domingo, 10 de

diciembre a la 1:30pm en la capilla. Esta será la última reunión

del Consejo Parroquial del 2017. Están todos invitados.

CELEBRACION A LA VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE

El lunes 11 y martes 12 de diciembre, celebraremos la Fiesta A

La Virgen de Guadalupe. Habrá Misa el lunes 11 de diciembre

a las 7:30pm y el Martes 12 de diciembre a las 7:30pm. Hay

volantes con el horario en la parte posterior de la iglesia.

CONFESIONES EN ADVIENTO

Tendremos oportunidades adicionales para celebrar el Sacramento

de la Reconciliación (Confesión) durante la temporada de

Adviento. Los sábados, habrá Confesiones, comenzando a las

7:00p.m. y los domingos a las 6:30a.m. (antes de la misa de las

7:00am). También, los miércoles, 13 y 20 de diciembre en la

Iglesia de 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m.

MISAS DE AGUINALDOS-EL VIERNES 15 DE DIC.

Continuaremos la tradición celebrando las "Misas de Aguinaldo"

durante las 9 Mañanas antes de Navidad. Las Misas de Aguinaldo

se celebran a las 5:30am cada mañana desde el viernes 15 hasta

el domingo 24 de diciembre (excepto el domingo 17 de

diciembre) y son seguidas de un sencillo desayuno preparado por

los diferentes grupos de la parroquia. Mientras que estas misas se

celebran en español, invitamos a todos los feligreses a considerar

en asistir por lo menos una mañana a experimentar esta hermosa

tradición de prepararse espiritualmente para el nacimiento de Jesús

en Navidad.

LEVANTATE

La Mise del viernes, 15 de diciembre será bilingüe y para todos

los que están en nuestro programa de Levántate el a las 7:30p.m.

aquí en San Miguel.

REUNION DEL COMITE DE TRABAJADORES

Les invitamos a la siguiente reunión para hablar de entrenamiento de

inmigración, problemas en las escuelas de nuestros niños,

problemas laborales de nuestra comunidad y mas. El jueves 14 de

diciembre, en el 345 de la calle 43 (auditorio de la escuela) a las

7:00pm. Para mas información llame al Myriam Hernández (914-

REGALOS DE NAVIDAD

Si desea ser parte de nuestros regalos de Navidad durante esta

temporada de Adviento, compre un regalo para un niño. Traiga

todos los regalos SIN ENVOLVER el lunes 18 de diciembre a la

iglesia de San Miguel o a la oficina. ¡Gracias de nuevo por su

continua generosidad al proporcionarle algo especial a un niño.

FELIGRESES RECIENTEMENTE INSCRIPTOS-SOBRES

Para todos aquellos que se registraron como feligreses durante las

últimas cuatro (4) semanas, hemos enviado paquetes de sobres que

se pueden utilizar a partir del sábado y el domingo, 16 y 17 de

diciembre hasta el domingo, 4 de febrero de 2018. Cuando reciba el

paquete de Sobres, ya no necesitará usar los sobres

"Temporales" (azules). Si continúa usando los sobres azules, le

pedimos que por favor escriba claramente la misma información que

figuraba en su formulario de inscripción, para que podamos tener un

registro preciso de tus donaciones. Si se ha inscripto y no recibe el

paquete de sobres en el correo antes del jueves, 14 de diciembre

puede recoger un paquete en la Oficina de la Rectoría. **Si tiene

alguna pregunta sobre los sobres O, si ya es un feligrés activo y

NO ha recibido sus sobres, LLAME a la Oficina de la Rectoría

(718-768-6065) para informarnos.

LA APELACIÓN CATOLICA ANUAL 2017

El pasado mes de marzo, los feligreses de San Miguel hicieron

promesas a la Campaña Católica Anual (ACA) por un total de

$65,524, pero hasta ahora solo se han donado $36,501. Nuestra meta

diocesana es de $39,425. Cada dólar sobre ese objetivo se devuelve a

la parroquia y podemos usarlo para la Renovación del Centro Papa

Francisco. Hemos enviado cartas a los feligreses que todavía no han

podido cumplir su promesa, pidiéndoles que traten de hacerlo o, si

no pueden dar la cantidad completa, favor de ayudar de alguna

manera. Siempre estamos agradecidos por la generosidad de nuestros

feligreses. Si alguien tiene preguntas sobre su compromiso, pueden

CLASES DE INGLES GRATIS

IC Inovations estará ofreciendo clases gratis de ingles. Ellos están
