We are pleased to present you with a catalogue of various learning opportunities available within DuPont EMEA.

The intention with the catalogue is to give you a quick snap-shot of our core training activities in the region. For each activity you will find a short description of the target groups, learning objectives, duration and format (online, workshop, webinar) as well as enrolment procedures.

If you find an interesting training in the catalogue and you would like to know more about it, you should as a general principle contact Learning Services at CallHR ([email protected]). Learning Services can inform you on how to sign up for a program, when and where the next program will run, and the costs (if any) associated with participating in a specific activity. For the few programs listed in the catalogue that are not administered by CallHR, we have specified the “next-steps” directly in the program description.

Please always remember to discuss any participation in training activities upfront with your manager. It is important that you are aligned on what programs may be relevant for you, taking into consideration your long-term development plan, and any potential development needs to enhance your current performance.

We hope that this overview helps you when thinking about your career, and encourages you to plan your development towards excellent results, in line with your own personal objectives and DuPont’s strategic business objectives.

On behalf of the EMEA Talent Development Team

Luna Rodriquez

Think about any skill that you have acquired. Anything that you can do today that you might not have known how to do in the past. It could be leisure, for example learning to ski, playing golf or driving a car.

How much of that learning came from being taught how to do the new skill? How much of that learning came from observing other people? And how much of that learning came from you having a go?

So think about those three categories• Learning from being taught• Learning from others• Learning from doing

You didn’t learn to drive a car by sitting in a classroom for weeks listening to lectures about driving! You probably did a mixture of all three above.

Research shows that the best combination for learning to be most effective is in the ratio 70/20/10.• 70% of all learning actually comes from doing• 20% of learning comes from observing others (positive/negative role

models)• 10% of learning actually comes from the formal process of being taught.

Included in that are books, training courses, lectures that you may listen to.

It is an important factor to consider when we think about our approach to training courses at work. What this model is saying is that once you have completed a day-long or a week-long training course that actually only accounts for 10% of the desired effective learning. In order to make that learning really live and become part of you - 90% of the work needs to happen after the training course. You need to have role models and you need to practice the skill.

Therefore, it is very important to consider the 70/20/10 ratio when you are thinking about your own personal development. How you are going to learn from formal teaching? But also how you are going to learn from role models and from doing, from practicing the skill in real life?
