From the Pastor: Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We began this week our Religious Education program for this year with great expectations to be able to help our families in the formation of the faith of your children. We will do our best. As parents, you are the first ones responsible for this instruction. It is important that you take this very seriously. We could never substitute your role. We can only support and help you in carrying it out. Your children are with you all the time. They see you and how you live your relationship with Jesus at Mass and in prayer at home. They see you as examples of the living of a Christian life of grace and charity. They see you and they learn from you at every step along the way. This is something you should always be aware of and be happy that God has entrusted you with this beautiful mission. You have given life to your children and you are meant to lead them to eternal life by word and example. I encourage you to do so with joy and not fear. Seek to know and love our Lord more each day by your reading of the Scriptures, your participation in the Sacraments and your prayer life at home, on your own and with your children. Arizona Rosary Celebration will be held Sunday, Octo-ber 21st at the Phoenix Convention Center, from 2 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Bishop Thomas Olmsted will preside. This is the largest continuous annual Rosary gathering in the United States. It includes
praying the Holy Rosary in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, music, and a key-note address by Bishop Patrick Zurek of Amarillo, Texas. This event will honor Mary under her title, Our Lady of Czestochowa. Intention boxes will be available for personal petitions. Admission is free. Organizations, parishes and groups in the Diocese are invited to be in the Blessing Procession. For

Being a registered parishioner makes things much easier when it is time for infant baptism, school registration, weddings, quinceaneras, and when asked to be a baptismal or confirmation sponsor. We are often asked to provide affidavits for baptismal and confirmation sponsors. We can only do this if a person is a registered and active member in our parish.
