HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday season and are
ready for the new year! Did you make any New Year’s reso-
lu%ons this year? Most of us make resolu%ons about spend-
ing more %me with family, working out, losing weight,
changing jobs, going back to school – things like that. But
how about making some ROTARY RESOLUTIONS! Let’s think
about how we can be beer or more effec%ve Rotarians in 2013. Here are some
ideas of how you can work on your Rotary Resolu%ons. Make an effort to:
* Invite a poten%al member to a luncheon
* Make up a mee%ng at another club in the area to meet new Rotarians and
get new ideas for our club
* Aend a Board Mee%ng
* Aend a Rotary Founda%on Mee%ng
* Support the “Golfing for Grads” tournament
* Become a mentor at the Grapevine Middle School
* Go on a “Computer for Kids” computer/printer installa%on
* Volunteer on a commiee
* Volunteer on a designated flag day assignment for a Rotarian not physical-
ly able to fulfill his/her obliga%on
* Volunteer to help with the 4-Way Test contest
* Donate blood and list Rotary as the beneficiary
* Make a dona%on to the Wheelchair Founda%on
* Volunteer to be a “hugger”, “%mer” or general assist at the Special Olym-
pics
* Join the Rotary Wine Fellowship
* Nominate a worthy recipient of the annual “Ken Diehm Community Service
Award”
There are lots of ways you can make this a GREAT year as a more dedicated,
involved and commied Rotarian by choosing one or more “resolu%ons” that
fits your schedule, interests and passion for service. I look forward to working
with each of you as we enter the “home stretch” of our Rotary year. Together
we will make a difference!
Wishing you peace through service this week and throughout the new year!
