Onrequest, we mount mechanically or hydraulically coupled front brakes with one-hand operation and aV-brake on the rear wheel as a parking brake.

Wider is better:The wider the track width, the higher is the tilt stability and the fasteryour trike is when cornering. For this purpose the broad track of 78 cm (30¾") of theGekko fx provides a lot of room between the wheels for your hands on the wide handle-bars, allowing much wider steering angle for a small turning circle.To enable your trike toslip casually through doors and gates, HP VELOTECHNIK has developed narrow hubs for alow total width of only 83 cm (32¾").

The Gekko fxs stands solidly on three wheels. The highly versatile OrthoFlex baselength can be infinitely adjusted together with the rear frame within a range of7 cm (2.7"). The seat angle can also be adjusted to between 48 and 64 degrees.This is noticeably more upright than on the Gekko fxs's more sporty cousins.

A unique feature of the OrthoFlex seat: With eight individually adju-stable padding sections, almost anybody's back and almost any spine size canbe precisely supported! Providing ergonomic back and lateral support hasnever been easier than this: The sides of the seat are equipped with specialpockets – their openings are clearly marked by blue ribbons.You can arrangethe eight individually adjustable padding elements in the pockets according tothe rider's needs.Width adjustments are therefore possible, as are adjustmentsin the lordotic area (lower lumbar spine). And as your child grows, you cansimply re-arrange the padding.The OthoFlex-seat is also a practical base plat-form for therapeutic changes by an orthopaedic technician who can installcustom seat support pads in the pockets with ease.

For riders under 1,40 m (4'7"), padding elements can be added in theupper seat back area as a head rest or on the side of the head as an orienta-tion support. Larger riders can install an optional head rest, adjustable in bothheight and angle.A retention belt is standard.

Their shared passion for innovative bike technologybrought founders of HP VELOTECHNIK, Paul Hollants and DanielPulvermüller, together early on. Already as students they becamethe winner of a national engineering competition with their fullysuspended tricycle velomobile, which was the foundation stonefor an impressive development from a garage lab to one of themost advanced bike and trike manufacturers in Germany. Today, the engineers at HP VELOTECHNIK have more than twodecades of experience on the design and optimization of bikes, tri-kes and accessories for active people. With over 35 expert engi-neers, skilled mechanics and dedicated customer service specia-lists, HP VELOTECHNIK manufactures around 2000 bikes and trikesper year and is one of the leading manufacturers delivering pre-mium recumbents to Europe and the USA. The centerpiece: The lightweight, rigid frame is madefrom high-strength, large diameter tubes of 7005 T6 aluminumalloy.The CNC-machined tubes, custom press forged folding hin-ges and laser-cut plates are linked through precise craftsmanshipwith impressive finely scaled, heavy-duty welding seams in theTIG process.

Tricycles are exposed to high tor-sional forces when cornering, accelera-ting and braking, particularly with aheavy luggage load. In order to effi-ciently bring your pedaling force on theroad any time and to optimize drivingsafety in extreme conditions, the engi-neers at HP VELOTECHNIK minimize flexing of the frame. Anexample: HP VELOTECHNIK’s high-strength aluminum main frametube with a solid 2 mm wall thickness provides a 34 % increasein torsional stiffness compared to a steel tube of similar weightand a wall thickness of 1 mm. You will feel it at once: the preci-sion of the steering, the sporty handling and safe braking.

Each frame undergoes a heat treatment process to removestresses from bending and welding and to achieve its maximumstrength.The frame is perfectly smoothened before receiving aninside and outside anti-corrosion coating. For a uniquely brilliantfinish, the frames then are painted by hand with a tough powdercoating. Depending on your chosen color, it will be either a deeprich multilayer color or a combination of base color and clearcoating. Besides the offered standard colors, all Gekko fx customtrike models can be painted in your preferred custom color!
