Lagendijk Equipment is a leading supplier of advanced

technology and equipment to the offshore, pipe-laying, oil-

drilling, dredging, and shipping industries.

Lagendijk Equipment’s parent is a family-owned company,

with more than a century of experience. It designs and builds

a range of premium marine cranes, offshore installations, pipe-

laying and dredging gear, and other specialized marine-related

machinery. Lagendijk also overhauls and updates existing equip-

ment, and its expert Service and Spares Departments are ready

specialty. Its many years of shared experience and expertise, plus

its highly trained current staff, enable Lagendijk to develop high-

In-house Testing Facilities

All Lagendijk equipment is thoroughly tested, during production, prior to delivery, and under operating

conditions to assure ideal performance on the job. Lagendijk’s advanced quality control and testing allow

short installation and commissioning times. Marine and harbor cranes can be load-tested at the company’s

own facilities.

Quality Control and ISO Certification

All manufacturing processes in Lagendijk’s factory and at client

worksites are continuously monitored by the finest quality

control system, to assure flawless performance and top value.

Marine Cranes and Port Equipment

Through 45 years of operation, Lagendijk Equipment has

become both a leading producer of a full range of specialized

cranes and a respected service company for the maritime

industry. These ship, offshore, and harbor cranes are specifi-

cally designed for use aboard all types of vessels, drilling rigs,

and at land-based harbor sites.

Among its variety of lifting equipment, Lagendijk’s customized off-

shore, subsea lifting, pipe-laying, oil-spill, and dredging cranes are

individually designed according to customer requirements. Lagen-

dijk produces an equally wide range of customized floating, harbor,

and industrial cranes for bulk-handling and transshipping applications.

All Lagendijk cranes can be delivered with explosion-proof (Ex) fea-

tures, and/or in conformity with client-requested Class requirements

of Lloyd’s, ABS, DNV, GL, FEM, BV, and others.

As in all our operations, Lagendijk Equipment assures reliable crane

Subsea Equipment

Lagendijk’s broad experience supplying equipment for deep-sea

projects has made us a preferred partner of national and inter-

national energy companies. We provide these companies with

integrated services, including but not limited to engineering,

procurement, installation, and commissioning of complex

offshore missions that reliably serve in the harsh condi-

tions of deep-sea environments.

Tailor-made equipment for such missions might include

knuckle-boom cranes, heave compensators, constant-

tension systems, submarine rescue capability, ROV lifting

frames, deep-sea protection frames, hydraulic power-

supply units, and a range of heavy-duty A-frames for

material handling and cable surveying.

Offshore Installations

In recent years Lagendijk Equipment has

added an economically vital specialty to its

many ser-vices. By combining several of its

long-term disciplines, including project engi-

neering, Lagendijk has become a significant

provider of offshore technology to oil and

gas service companies, offering equipment

that features explosion-proof (Ex) Zone 1,

Zone 2, and Safe Area options. Lagendijk

both builds and refurbishes offshore cranes,

control cabins, winches, foundation tubes, gangways, A-frames, pumps, hose reels and assemblies,

dredging equipment, heave compensators, and hydraulic power supplies.

Such equipment benefits from the experience of Lagendijk’s own skilled designers, its modern

machine and welding facilities manned by expert engineers, and its superior and environmentally

friendly paint and finishing shops. Each product – from the smallest hand winch to complete Zone

1 rated systems – is fabricated or refurbished to the highest standards.

Dredging Equipment

Because of The Netherlands’ long and demanding

relationship with the sea and its potential dangers,

many Dutch companies share a world-renowned mas-

tery of hydraulic engineering works. Lagendijk leads the

way today, with innovative heavy-duty dredging equip-

ment, all engineered and built in-house.

We also repair, upgrade, and modify existing equipment

including hopper dredgers, cargo barges, crane work,

booster stations, dredge pumps, water cannons, suction

dredging installations, conveyor belts, traveling platforms,

anchors, and other critical dredging components. The com-

pany’s broad customer base includes dredging operators, oil

and gas companies, offshore contractors, and government

authorities.

Pipe-laying Gear

Another innovation emerging from Lagendijk’s rich history is a line of

sophisticated equipment for laying subsea pipe for the energy indu-

stry. Total world consumption of energy is steadily on the increase

(it rose about 60 percent between 2004 and 2011). Driven by ever-

higher demand and soaring prices, the global oil and gas industry

must naturally seek newer energy sources.

From Lagendijk’s supplying gear and materials for the offshore,

dredging, and subsea markets, it has logically become a trusted

partner to offshore oil and gas exploration companies, supply-

ing project engineering as well as pipe transfer cranes, internal

pipe transfer systems, deepwater protection frames, traveling

hooks/blocks, swivel spares and rotary table spares, heave

compensators, and more.

Drilling Equipment and Rigs

Lagendijk has also recently added to its comprehensive pro-

gram the design and fabrication of powerful hydraulic, long-

stroke, top head drilling rigs, for use in every corner of the

globe. Backed by its more than 45 years’ experience in design

and fabrication of specialized cranes, Lagendijk’s drill rigs offer a

large variety of demanding applications, including water-well dril-

ling, geotechnical and environmental drilling, mineral exploration,

geothermal well drilling, construction and utility works, and many

other diverse operations. These rigs are now produced at the

Wemeldinge facility in the Province of Zeeland, where Lagendijk

can assist clients in developing tailor-made solutions for every

environment.

Other Specialty Projects

Since 2006 Lagendijk has designed, engi-

neered, installed, and commissioned several

hose tower projects. These include hose-

handling installations on jetties for the

petrochemical and biochemical industries.

Installations are delivered with explosion-

proof (Ex) features.

Typical Lagendijk installations are also in place on the first

hose towers in the ports of Terneuzen, in Zeeland, and Rot-

terdam.

When bunkering a ship, speed, efficiency, and ease of hand-

ling are essential. Responding to the market demand, Lagen-

dijk has developed an outstanding range of bunkering booms

designed specifically for

heavy use, all with explo-

sion-proof execution (Ex).

Options are available for the

size (5-inch or 10-inch) and

number of lead-throughs.

Despite its worthy safety record, the offshore oil industry has suffered some

spills that cause unfortunate environmental, economic, and political damage.

This reality inspired Lagendijk, in cooperation with Koseq, another leading

Dutch company, to develop a range of sweep cranes to remove surface

oil. Work began some 30 years ago between the Dutch Coast Guard and

the Dutch government’s ap-plied research organization (TNO) to create

a rigid sweeping arm. Lagendijk now produces an advanced crane system

that, in combination with the rigid sweeping arm, is

capable of recovering large quantities of oil.

The oil sweeping system has successfully recovered

oil from the groundings of Erika, Sea Empress, and

Prestige. Prior to the Prestige event, in 2002, rigid

sweeping arms were used by the Dutch and Spanish

Coast Guard. Following the Prestige event, and in

light of the rigid sweeping arm’s excellent perfor-

mance, demand for Lagendijk’s advanced cranes

increased dramatically.

Mechanical Engineering, Modifications, and Upgrades

Lagendijk Equipment designs and constructs complex machinery and hydraulic installations at its own

modern facilities. All systems are carefully designed for durability and intensive use in extreme weather

conditions. If desired, installations can be built to any Class requirements.
