WHAT GOOD WILL IT BE FOR SOMEONE TO GAIN THE WHOLE
WORLD, YET FORFEIT THEIR SOUL?
MATTHEW 16:26
3 WAYS TO LEAD WITHOUT
SACRIFICING YOUR PEACE & JOY:
KNOW YOURSELF
TRUST YOUR GUT
CREATE GREAT RHYTHMS
KNOW YOURSELF
Knowing yourself means to know what fills your heart,
your greatest struggle, what you’re going through, and
determining what the far idol is in your life
WHY KNOW YOURSELF?
• Youth leaders know a lot about youth culture but are not aware of what’s happening their heart and soul
• The Bible is clear on the fact that the enemy knows you and knows you well – Some of the best lies are the ones closest to
the truth – Important to know how the enemy will best
attack you
“Know yourself and you’ll win 50% of your battles. Know
yourself and your enemy and you’ll win 100% of your battles.
Know neither of them and you’ll lose every single time.”
Sun Tzu, The Art of War
TRUST YOUR GUT You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your
youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but
know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
Ecclesiastes 11:9
WHY TRUST YOUR GUT?
• As you stay connected to God, He will give you visions, dreams, and passions
• One of the hardest things to do as a leader is have the courage to follow those dreams and visions because most of them tap into unchartered waters
• Every time you say no to those visions God has implanted inside your heart, something becomes forfeited
CREATE GREAT RHYTHMS
It’s important to know your limits and appropriately
challenge yourself, so you won’t begin to operate at a low
energy level
WHY CREATE GREAT RHYTHMS?
• People generally fall under 3 levels: – Under Challenged – Appropriately Challenged – Overly Challenged
• Leaders thrive best somewhere between appropriately challenged and overly challenged – If you don’t have anything on your plate that
challenges you, you will shut down
The moments when we’re standing at the bottom of the
mountaintop experiences looking up, are the moments
we come alive.
