Congratulations! Going, Going….. Gone!! We will be having a
reception for Father Antunez after the 10:30 Lit-
urgy on the 25th of June at OLPH. He would like
to thank you individually at that time.
U RGENT!!! The Altar Society is in urgent need for someone to take on the responsibility of Publicity Chairperson for our parish bazaar which takes place in October. Much help will be given, but we need
someone to take charge. This is a very important task to assist us in having a successful bazaar. Please help! Contact Janice Gutmann 541-942-8659.
The "OLPH Altar Society" hosted the reception for the 2017 gradu-
ates following the 10:30 am Mass at OLPH where Fr David gave
them a special blessing last Sunday. (Creswell "seniors" also received
a blessing at the 8:30 Mass followed by refreshments in their honor.)
Jan Thompson spearheaded the event (assisted by Betty Krumlauf
and Ann Carstens; but the ladies provided an awesome array of deli-
cacies that were enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who helped to make
this special event happen and to Louise Giarrusso who along with the
several of the St Vincent de Paul group, helped to clean up after their
meeting.
THANK YOU FOR A FABULOUS JOB OF HONORING OUR
YOUNG PEOPLE!
Kudos to Jill Vaverka who "took home" a silver medal for the 50 yard
dash and a 7th place ribbon for the softball throw at the Special
Olympics Regional Track & Field Meet in Ashland last Saturday.
Congratulations and keep up the great job!

Food for Thought: John 3:16-18 This familiar passage from the Gospel of John tells us that God loved the world so much
that he gave his only Son to us, so that everyone who believes in him will live forever. Think about how much God loves you. Describe how this makes you feel. Based on these feelings, what kind of a prayer could you say to
God? Either quietly or out loud, say this prayer. (Perhaps your family could write this prayer together).
a Dios? Haz una oración, en silencio o en voz alta. (Tal vez tu familia podría escribir la oración juntos).
Most Holy Trinity Sunday Readings: Scr ipture Readings: Exodus 34.4-6, 8-9; 2 Corinthians 13.11-13; John 3.16-18
“God so loved the world that God sent the only Son that whoever believes in him may not die but have eternal life.” - John 3.16
During Jesus’ lifetime his disciples recognize he is an exceptional man who has come in God’s name and calls God Father and source of all.
After his resurrection, Jesus’ disciples experience the risen Jesus with them, and as Jesus promised, they also experience the Spirit of God
working in their hearts and animating their lives. Out of these experiences of God beyond them, with them, and within them come the first
understandings of God as three in one love.
The early Greek theologians use the word perichoresis to describe three persons in communion. Peri means all around, near as in the
word perimeter. Chor means to dance around, to circle. A chorus intertwines voices in harmony and may dance, circling, intertwining. A
chore is a regular task that requires getting out and about, such as feeding animals or taking out trash. Doctors make rounds to see their pa-
tients.
The word Perichoresis helps us imagine three persons interacting dynamically, making the rounds of each other as in a dance, reciprocally
and mutually exchanging beauty and delight. The word perichoresis helps us resist seeing the three persons in God in order of chronology
and importance. It eliminates the hierarchical order we assume in the Sign of the Cross—Father first, then the Son, and Spirit subordinate.
Our God is not a single monarch but instead three persons in one, their shared love at the heart of the universe.
What difference does now we image the Trinity make in our lives?

As we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity we also realize the
mystery of how much God loves and cares for us each day.
Believing in this our lives can then overflow in thanksgiving and
praise.
Your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box will help the poor to
believe in the mystery of God’s love for them.

Busy Person's Retreat
Part 4. What is Your Attitude toward Work? (section 2)
You may think of "work" as only something you get paid to do, but,
work is essential to the lives of every one. Of course, getting paid to
work is the way most people are able to provide food, clothing, and
shelter. Paychecks buy transportation, security, education, recreation.
The money earned can be used to support your church, the govern-
ment, and worthy causes.
Does your salary also enable you to reach out to those who are hun-
gry, thirsty, strangers, naked, ill, and imprisoned? As Jesus tells us in
the parable of the Last Judgment (Matthew 25:31-46), "Whatever
you did for one of these least brothers and sisters of mine, you did
for me."
Most of us find more ways to spend money than we have bank ac-
counts or credit cards! How did you manage last month? Jot down
the major categories in which you spend money. What do you dis-
cover about your values?
Extending your heart and mind beyond yourself involves creativity
in using your imagination. Working creatively can move you beyond
the merely routine and repetitious. If you feel trapped in a job or a
family situation that gives you little joy or fulfillment, can you think
of ways to be creative about your work?
A book you may find helpful as you think about your relationships
and your work is Dorothy Soelle's To Work and To Love: a Theolo-
gy of Creation, Fortress Press, 1984.
Ask yourself now: In what one way is my work (either daily tasks or
my job) life-giving? How do I deal with difficulties at work and with
my own limitations?
What is one way I can be creative at work, relate to someone at
work, or change a dehumanizing system?
While work is a vital dimension of humanity, for some people it can
become obsessive or addictive. Do you know people who replace
God and even family with the gods of success, ambition, or power?
Being a "workaholic" means being addicted to work and, as a result,
being subject to burnout and despair. True work needs to be bal-
anced by prayer and leisure.
Ideally through your work you should be able to express yourself,
share with others, and contribute to the building up of the world.
Perhaps you know people who have boring or distasteful jobs but yet
bring a positive attitude to their work. Satisfaction is found not only
in work well done but also in human relationships.
Have you encountered people in service jobs who can either make or
break your day by their attitude toward their work? One bus driver in
particular is fondly remembered by many riders for the hospitality he
offered as he greeted each rider warmly. His genuine interest in each
rider brightened their lives. He obviously enjoyed his job very much
and made the job into a daily blessing for himself and others. Any
work, no matter how routine or "boring" can become a blessing for
others as well as for ourselves. ~~Look for section 3 of Part 4 Next

Despite uncertainty about refugees entering the U.S., the Refugee Resettlement Coalition of the Lane County hasn’t stopped caring about refugee families.
Conditions in refugee camps are even more difficult because of the uncertainty and hopelessness refugees face regarding the future. What can one person do?
- You can bring help and hope to a refugee family by making a relief kit. Relief kits remind refugee families that someone cares. A relief kit supplies the most
basic items needed by families in refugee camps, including: 4 bath towels (Med wt, dark/ bright colors), 4 adult toothbrushes, 4 large bars bath soap, 2 wide
tooth combs (6-8 inches), 1 box band aids (40 count, assorted), 1 fingernail clipper (good quality), 1 pkg sanitary pads (18-24 ct, thin maxi), 1 13-24 oz bottle
shampoo in resealable plastic bag, 4 lg bars laundry soap (Fels Naptha, Sunlight or Zote brands)
Kit contents should be new items and placed in a plastic garbage bag for easy transport. Kits can be dropped off at Windermere Real Estate (1600 Oak ST,
Eugene, Parking behind building) Mon-Fri 8:30-5 or Catholic Community Services (1025 G st, Springfield) Mon– Fri, 9:30-4:30.
