Once Judas has left, Jesus indicates that the time has come for him to fulfill his mission. It will glorify both himself and the Father; all things will be made new. The disciples will share in this glorification when they enact a new commandment; to love one another. This will require the same sacrificial love for others as Christ had for them, and it will become the defining fea- ture in the identity of a disciple, including us. What phrases in the reading from Revelation would give comfort to those who mourn? What does sacrificial love mean to you?

Meditate with an icon or other image of Jesus, asking that your will become more conformed to his. Scripture Insights Today’s reading from Revelation is frequently chosen for funeral liturgies. Good Sam’s with giving out food to the poor. Bring your can goods, flour, sugar etc and place in the box. Lets help feed the

hungry in our community. If you would like to give a

monetary donation, our Poor Box is located at the

front entrance of the church. Thank You for your

help.

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.. Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9 (8)

mother in the long, white envelopes that are in the pews. Those honored will be published in the bulletin on Mother's Day. Please have all the envelopes returned by Monday, May 2, 2016

Blue Sunday April 24th Child Abuse Prevention

Prayer Initiative

Blue Sunday Prayer Lord, thank you for our children For them we kneel and pray

Help us teach them of your kindness Of your mercy and your way

Help us show them of your love Your strength and safety too

Help us show them who you are Help us treat them like you do

Let’s pray, educate ourselves and volunteer for the children of our nation until black and blue are just colors in their crayon box. Nationwide, over three million children are reported abused or neglected annually. One is too many.

Jesus said:
