Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

It’s comforting to know that the All-Powerful God of the Universe knows every detail about our lives and is deeply concerned about every single detail. He knows us infinitely better than we know ourselves and He loves each one of us more deeply than we could ever love ourselves. These facts should give us much peace.

Imagine the truth contained in this Scripture above. God even knows how many hairs we have on our head! This is stated as a way of emphasizing the depth of intimacy by which God knows us.

When we can come to the realization of the Father’s perfect knowledge of us AND His perfect love of us, we will be in a position to put our complete trust in Him. Trust in God is only possible when we understand who we are trusting. And when we do begin to more completely understand who God is and how much He cares about every detail of our lives, we will more easily entrust to Him those details, allowing Him to take control of all.

Reflect, today, upon these basic truths of God’s perfect knowledge of us and His perfect love. Sit with those truths and ponder them. As you do, allow them to become the basis of an invitation from God to let go of your own control of life in favor of His control. Try to make an act of total surrender to Him and you will begin to discover the freedom that comes with this surrender.

Father in Heaven, I thank You for Your perfect knowledge of every detail of my life. I thank You, also, for Your perfect love. Help me to trust in this love and to trust in Your daily invitation to surrender all. I do surrender my life to You, dear Lord. Help me to surrender more fully this day. Jesus, I trust in You.

God and Father of all creation, we come before you today with humble hearts. You are our model of a loving father. When we fail and fall short of your expectations, you are always there at the end of the day with open arms, ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day and to encourage us to try again and not to give up. We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others. Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustra-tion with their children. Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures. Provide them with the words needed for encouragement and persever-ance. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Beginning June 22, the Feast of Saints Thomas More and John Fisher, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops celebrates Religious Freedom Week. Join us in promoting religious freedom For the Good of All.

All people desire to know their Creator. All people have a natural impulse to seek the good and to live in accordance with that good. All people can flourish when they pursue the truth about God and respond to the truth. Religious freedom means that all people

have the space to flourish. Religious freedom is both an American value and an important part of Catholic teaching on human dignity. When we promote religious freedom, we promote the common good and thus strengthen the life of our nation and the community of nations. Learn more at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek!

Responding to the Sin of

Racism

Racism is an attack on the image of God that has been

given to every one of us by the Creator (Genesis 5:1-

3). Because each person has been created by God, we

are all united together with the Lord and with each

other. Racism rejects what God has done by refusing

to acknowledge the image of God in the other, the

stranger and the one who is different. The fact that we

were created in the image of God should remind us

that each person is a living expression of God that

must be respected and preserved and never dishonored.

Dear Parent, I regret to inform you that Bishop Sullivan this week decided that 2020 Summer Religious Education programs in the Camden diocese are to be cancelled due to the ever-changing nature of the pandemic, CDC protocols, and Governor Murphy's continued restrictions on indoor gatherings. The cancellation is for this year only. Our bookkeeper will be mailing you a refund check for the additional fee you paid for the Summer Intensive program. I can only imagine how difficult it's been to work and home school your child(ren) for the past 3 months so I think all our families can use a break this summer! At this time, please reply with your choice of a Sunday or Tuesday CCD class for your child(ren). Classes during the academic year will begin when the diocesan Office of Religious Education gives us safety guidelines for in-person instruction, which is essential in developing a relationship with Jesus and our parish community. Your understanding and support is greatly appreciated since planning is difficult in these uncertain times. If you wish to request prayer for a family member affected by the virus, please let me know. If your family is experiencing financial difficulty at this time, please reach out to me or Father Paul. If you are a teacher and available to volunteer as a catechist in the fall, I could really use your experience in on-line education since we may need a combination of in-person and on-line instruction.

May God bless you! Pat Galie, Director of Religious Education

In order to safeguard the wellbeing of our children, the Diocese of Camden has recommended that our

Vacation Bible School program for 2020 be cancelled.

Thank you for your interest!

We look forward to next summer to see

everyone again for VBS!
