TERM 2 WEEK 8 Wednesday 20th June 2018

Athletics Carnival – Friday 22nd June

MSPS Athletics Carnival is this Friday 22nd June starting at 9.45am. Children turning 8 this year and older are able to participate. Students are to arrive at school at normal time as class rolls will be marked before the teachers take them to the oval. We would appreciate parent helpers to assist with timekeeping etc. Parent helpers will receive a yummy coffee and cookie courtesy of Mr Adams. Any parents that are available to help please see Mr Adams on Friday morning. Students will be eating their food throughout the day when the event program permits. Hot food lunches ordered from the canteen will be made for 1st break at approx. 11.45am. Please remember to put your child's sports house on the lunch bag and not their class. Students are invited to wear their house colours or their sports uniform. One student from each house will be selected as the 'Best dressed' and win a free lunch from the canteen to the value of $5. A reminder that students are expected to have a hat, enclosed shoes suitable for running and a shirt which covers their shoulders. House colours are: Balmoral – Blue, Skellatar – Red, Edinglassie – Yellow, Gyarran – Green. We look forward to seeing the most flamboyant and colourful clothes. Please no hair spray.

Good luck Jack! Best wishes to Year 6 student Jack Haylen who is participating at the PSSA NSW Rugby League State Championships in Mudgee next week. In April Jack played at the Hunter trials and out of 150 kids participating, he was selected as the starting hooker for the 17 person Hunter Open Rugby League team. In preparation for the State Championships, Jack has attended five training sessions in Newcastle and the Hunter team has played two trial games against West Sydney and North Sydney. The entire school community would like to wish Jack the very best of luck.

Regards Mr Adams PE Teacher
