1. Create a Glitter Jar

Finding a jar or plastic bottle and allow your child to decorate it however they like.

Fill the bottle up ¾ of the way with water. Next, add glue, food coloring, and glitter then shake.

Visit ACCESS HRA to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/food stamps)

NYC Department for the Aging provides home-delivered meals are available for seniors ages 60 years

and older who may have disabilities, access, or functional needs.

Foodbank NYC has an interactive map with providers who have switched to “grab and go” meals and

pantry bags to minimize the risk of exposure.

Financial Assistance for Small Businesses

The City will offer financial assistance to small businesses to help lessen the economic effect of the

coronavirus. Businesses may qualify for low-interest loans and employee retention grants.

You can get more information and sign up for email updates at NYC.gov/sbs. Information about the new

loan and grant program for impacted small businesses, including application links, will be sent to the

email you provide.

Paid Sick Leave

Rent Arrears & Public Assistance

If your work schedule was reduced as a result of the coronavirus and you are unable to pay your rent, you

can apply for a Cash Assistance special grant request to get benefits for emergencies.

NYCHA residents that experience a loss of income may qualify for a rent reduction. Households that have

experienced a complete income loss may qualify for the Zero Income Policy.

Access to Free Internet at Home

● Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12

and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any

service level up to 100 Mbps. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

Free Tutoring: New York Public Library

Families with students in kindergarten through 12th grade and an NYPL library card can access tips,

activities, and one-on-one tutors through a new partnership with Brainfuse. Tutors are available from 2

PM to 11 PM every day in both English and Spanish. Students can also make use of Brainfuse’s videos,

activities, and other learning resources 24/7.

A CARING HAND, FOUNDED IN MEMORY OF BILLY ESPOSITO

The only non-profit in New York City solely dedicated to helping grieving

children age 5-17 and their caregivers and the adults who care about them.

Services include: group and individual services, phone and on-site

The Center for HOPE (Healing, Opportunity, Perseverance, Enlightenment)

provides a place where children and families can come together in their

journey of grief. We offer programs to meet the needs of the entire family—

providing support and help to bereaved children, adolescents and parents

through developmentally age-appropriate groups and short term counseling.

These groups are facilitated by certified social workers and compassionate
