Es mados amigos,
El Comité de Liturgia y yo pasamos una buena parte de nuestra reunión del 7 de Julio para determinar el mejor horario de las Misas y devociones entre semana para nuestra Parroquia. Pero luego vino el cierre obligatorio de nuestras iglesias.
Entonces ... lo que tenemos es un horario temporal que observaremos para el mes de agosto. A nadie le gusta cambiar los horarios de misa y devoción con tanta frecuencia. Pero por ahora esto es lo mejor que podemos hacer.
Este es el horario para agosto:
1. Misa dominical: afuera (puede asis r: capacidad máxima 100): inglés a las 7:30 a.m. y español a las 7 p.m. 2. Obligación dominical Misa- Transmisión en vivo (ver en nuestro si o web): sábados a las 4pm en inglés y 6pm en español.
Domingos a las 9 a.m. en inglés y a la 1 p.m. en español. 3. Misa de lunes a viernes - Transmisión en vivo (ver en nuestro si o web): 7am inglés y 6:30 pm español 4. Confesiones y comunión - Afuera (cada 15 minutos): viernes por la mañana a las 7:45 a.m. hasta la úl ma persona ... y los
viernes por la noche a las 9 p.m. hasta la úl ma persona 5. Veneración del San simo Sacramento - Transmisión en vivo (en nuestro si o web): viernes, mientras las personas reciben
confesión externa y communion 6. Rosario en español - Transmisión en vivo (en nuestro si o web): entre semana a las 8 p.m. Vamos a suspender la oración diaria de la mañana y la noche, ya que hubo muy poca par cipación. Además, las personas que asisten a la misa de lunes a viernes a las 6:30 pm deben ser muy flexibles. Esta misa a veces se cancelará si tenemos primeras comuniones o confirmaciones, clases de catequesis en la iglesia, etc. (En estas ocasiones, haremos todo lo posible para al menos tener una Liturgia de la Palabra).

The Liturgy Commi ee and I spent a good part of our July 7 mee ng determining the best schedule of weekday Mass and weekday devo ons for our parish. But then came the mandated re-closing of our churches.
So … what we have below is a temporary schedule that we will observe for the month of August. Nobody likes changing Mass and devo on schedules so frequently. But for now this is the best we can do.
This is our schedule for August:
1. Outside Sunday Mass (you are welcome to a end: 100 maximum capacity): English at 7:30am and Spanish at 7pm. 2. Livestream Sunday obliga on Mass (watch on our Website): Saturdays at 4pm in English and 6pm in Spanish. Sundays at
9am in English and 1pm in Spanish. 3. Livestream weekday Mass (watch on our Website): 7am English and 6:30pm Spanish. 4. Outside Confessions and Holy Communion (every 15 minutes): Fridays mornings at 7:45 am un l the last person … and
Friday nights at 9 pm un l the last person. 5. Livestream Venera on of the Blessed Sacrament (on our website): Fridays, while people are receiving outside confession
and Holy Communion. 6. Livestream Spanish Rosary (on our website): weeknights at 8pm
We will discon nue the daily Morning and Night prayer, since there was very li le par cipa on. Also, people a ending week-day 6:30pm Mass need to be very flexible --- this Mass will some mes be cancelled if we have outside first communions or confirma ons, cateche cal classes in church, etc. (On these occasions, we will do our best to at least have a Liturgy of the Word.)
We are stretching to gather people for prayer the best we can. Your feedback is welcome!

REBUILD, REFRESH, RENEW UDATES: ALREADY DONE: Statue of Our Lady of Fatima has been removed and a new one has been ordered. IN PROCESS RIGHT NOW : Architect is working on detailed drawings for Our Lady of Fatima's new place and prayer areas inside the church. NEXT ON THE LIST: The restrooms in front of the school and new school office. Projects of this size feel like they take forever, and are sooo expensive… but worth it, since we aim to ensure a vibrant Catholic presence here for decades to come.

Recently we received the unwelcome news that our churches and church offices are to be closed again. Governor Newsom has made this determina on, and Bishop Barnes and our diocese are going along with it.
Catholics are hear ly in favor of civil disobedience if there is a clear moral issue involved. When, however, there is no clear overwhelming moral issue at stake --- and the only thing at risk is my private right to do as I please and not be encumbered or discomforted --- our tendency is to go along with civil authority.
A er all, people will have different opinions about almost anything. If we all reserve to ourselves the final determina on of what is for the common good without reference to others, there will be no end to civil disorder.
HOWEVER … We are allowed to gather outside … in groups of less than 100, with face masks, and observing sani zing pro-cedures.
Keep watching our parish website, as we adjust to changing condi ons and try to make our Catholic prayer tradi ons as avail-able as possible

Recientemente recibimos la no cia inoportuna de que nuestras Iglesias y oficinas de la Iglesia deben cerrarse nuevamente. El Gobernador Newsom ha tomado esta determinación, y el Obispo Barnes y nuestra Diócesis están de acuerdo.
Los Católicos están sinceramente a favor de la desobediencia civil, si hay un problema moral claro involucrado. Sin embargo, cuando no hay una cues ón moral abrumadora clara en juego --- y lo único que está en riesgo es mi derecho privado a hacer lo que me plazca y no ser atacado o incomodado --- nuestra tendencia es estar de acuerdo con la autoridad civil.
Después de todo, las personas tendrán opiniones diferentes sobre casi cualquier cosa. Si todos nos reservamos la determi-nación final de lo que es para el bien común sin referencia a otros, no habrá fin para el desorden civil.
SIN EMBARGO ... Se nos permi rá reunirnos afuera ... en grupos de menos de 100 personas, con máscaras faciales y ob-servando procedimientos de desinfección.

Youth Ministry Covid Update
During this unique time, we hope to communicate clearly with you any changes concerning Covid and the faith formation program, including Confirmation. It is most likely that our pro-gram this year will look a bit different from last. As of now, the program will be a combination of both online and in person learning. Rest assured, we know the importance of our loved ones, so every decision will have the safety of our families as our top priority. As a result we are cur-rently working to limit the size of every class room. We have learned that a small class size will be very important for the safety of our children. We will also provide online learning material for those that are not comfortable meeting in person. These details will all be explained in mid-August. Thank you for your patience during these trying times and many blessings to you and your family.
Registration
The Faith Formation office has limited office hours due to the Corona Virus. It is our goal to offer you the best service, but for the safety of our employees we have designed an online regis-tration form we would prefer you to fill out. Online Registration Instructions: Go to our website www.smmchino.org then go to the heading “Faith Formation” and below that link click online registration. Clink the big pink button that states “Registration Form”. This form will walk you through the online registration process. Once you submit your appli-cation and send in payment we will send you the details of your student’s class by phone or email in mid August. You can also print the registration form and send it in with payment and paperwork to the faith formation office. If the online registration process is too difficult, then please schedule an appointment with the faith formation office to fill out the registration paperwork in person. Please call the office to schedule your appointment.
Retreats and Extra Materials (Due to possible changes, money will be collected at a later date) For families making 1st communion: $25 workshop fee Confirmation year 1 retreat: $15 per student Confirmation year 2 & 3 retreat: $160 per student / per year
