Parish Council Election & Responsibilities….

The last election for our Parish Council Members was in March, 2011, and according to our Parish Council by-law

it is over due. So we will have our election for the new Parish Council members on December 10th and 11th.

We will have to elect 1 member from the senior adults (ages 55+), 1 from adults (ages 31-54), 1 from young

adults (ages 20-30), and 2 from teens (1 boy and1 girl, ages 17-19). If you would like to nominate yourself or

someone else, please contact the Church Office at 931-762-3183 or you may e-mail to

[email protected]. Candidates have to be practicing Catholics, and registered members of our

Parish. Please read below…..

Purpose & Responsibilities for Parish Council Members:

The Parish Pastoral Council exercises shared responsi-bility for the pastoral life of the parish under the authority and leadership of the pastor. In this context the purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to prayerfully engage the people and the pastor in common reflection about

the parish’s mission and ministry.

The Parish Pastoral Council has four basic responsibilities:

To research the needs, the ideas and the hopes of the faith community.

To lead a process for identifying the parish mission and involving parishioners in that mission.

To encourage and support existing ministries. To plan for the parish’s future by recommending pro-

cedures and programs that will fulfill the Church’s mission.

Right to Life Baby Bottle Project Extended:

SHOW YOUR LOVE: Social and financial circumstances can make an unplanned pregnancy difficult for a mother to face. Tennessee Right to Life works to ensure that the necessary information, resources and tangible support are there to enable her to choose life! Won’t you join us by taking home a baby bottle and filling with change? With your help, we will demonstrate to our communities that love always protects.

The bottles will be available for you to take at the back of Church. There will be a box labeled ‘TN Right to Life Bot-tles’ that you can return your bottles to. You can also drop by the Church Office during the regular office hours (M-F, 9-2) Thanks for your support!!!!

For love always protects, always hopes, always perse-veres. –1 Corinthians 13:7
