Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are now well into the Month of May – the Month of Mary! I hope you have all had a chance to view the May Crowning of Mary/La Coronación de María video which we celebrated at the beautiful statue of Our Lady outdoors by the gazebo. You may like to view it at anytime during this month of Mary! (see *link #1 below)
Of course, May is also a wonderful month to pray the Rosary daily – especially to ask Mary’s protection in this time of pandemic. The Holy Father has proposed two prayers we might include at the end of our daily Rosary – the first is the one we have been reciting at the end of every online Mass and the other is similar. (see **link #2 below)
In our prayers to Mary, let’s continue to pray for one another and especially for those who are sick, anxious, awaiting results, and for those who have died and all who mourn them!
Last, but certainly not least, as we pray to Our Blessed Mother, let us of course remember our own mothers: Happy Mother’s Day! To all our mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and to so many who fulfill a motherly role of nurturing young people at home, at school, at work, or through the missions of the Church, a special blessing on this Mother’s Day!
Continued blessings for the Easter Season to all!
Fr. Joe

SBA Payroll Protection Program
We are very happy to receive a loan from the
SBA Payroll Protection Program which will cover
about 2 months of payroll, so we can continue
paying our employees during this financially
difficult time. It is most likely, once the terms
are clarified, that we will not have to repay this
loan. We are still in a tough spot financially, but
this is still a real help!

Pope Francis’ Prayer to the Virgin Mary for
Protection and Hope
O, Mary You always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain,
keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the People,
know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide
so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting
after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings
and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross,
to the joy of the resurrection.
Amen.
Under your protection,
we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of who we are in trial,
but deliver us from every danger,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
First Reading: Acts 6:1‑7 During the early growth of the Church, the apostles realized that they needed more disciples in order to carry out effectively the ministry of the Church. The community selected seven men, one of whom was Stephen.
Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:4‑9 Citing many uses of the word “stone” in the sayings of Jesus and in the Old Testament, Peter urges the Christians to be “living stones... an edifice of spirit.”
Gospel: John 14:1‑12 In this beautiful passage from the words of Jesus at the Last Supper, Jesus promises that he is preparing a place for the apostles. He tells them, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” When Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father, Jesus answers, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

Prayer for Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe
You
are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love you above all things,

Since I can not now receive You,
sacramentally,
come at least spiritually in my heart.
As though You have already come.
I embrace You and unite myself entirely to
You;
Never permit me to be separated from You.

For All Those Who Have Mothered Us in Our Lives The Love of a Mother
A Mother's love is something that no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain.
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may, For nothing can destroy it or take that love away.
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking.
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems.
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation.
A many splendor miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.
The Love of a Mother
We may not have been able to gather together the last several weeks. However, the Church is alive and well. Here are two snapshots of events going on around the Parish.
Some of our Parish families have decorated homemade crosses out of cardboard and attached them to the church doors with painter’s tape as a reminder that God is ever present in our lives. There is always room for more crosses! Wouldn’t it be so comforting to see the church doors draped in homemade crosses.
Each week your donations of food and household products are organized, placed into bags, and distributed to those in need. Together we are living out the Church’s mission.
Today is the 5th Sunday of the Easter Season. This season will take us to the Feast of Pentecost which is celebrated 50 days after Easter and recalls the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the early Church. This year, Pentecost is celebrated on June 8th.
