and MORE!

Our ST. NICHOLAS FAIR is over, but the wonderful memories of camaraderie and fun the past months will remain with us. The entire St. Boniface community has been most enthusiastic and supportive in contributing their time and talents, or providing table items and baked goods, which made the fair an exceptional event for all. Those who attended the fair were delighted with some great bargains or delicious treats, while knowing they were supporting that which St. Boniface does well-ministering outreach to others. Brothers and Sisters Doing the Right Thing were overjoyed with our generosity once again. On behalf of the 65th Committee and the Vestry, I want to share our appreciation in this season of giving with all members of St. Boniface for your positive support of the St. Nicholas Fair. Seasons Blessings, Ann Hardcastle

The PARISH PICTORAL DIRECTORY The directories are in! All

parishioners who took part in our photo weeks last winter receive a complimentary copy of our parish pictorial directory. If you haven’t already picked up your complimentary copy, contact the church office. A limited number of copies are available for purchase ($5.00) for anyone wanting an additional copy or anyone

who didn’t participate in the photo weeks.

TRANSPORTATION to CHURCH

Prefer not to drive at night? Don't drive anymore? St. Boniface

Church has partnered with ITN Suncoast, a nonprofit transportation service for seniors. This trusted transportation company will take you to any church event for a discounted rate. You will need to 1) fill out an application available in the office, Parish Hall or online, and 2) call a day ahead for service

arrangements (but by 1pm on Friday for any weekend or Monday activity). Contact Fr. Jonathan Evans for details.

PUT SOME “WILL POWER” IN YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

The New Year is the perfect time to make sure your affairs are in order. By spending a few moments now to make a list of your loved ones, important charitable groups (including St. Boniface!), and your accumulated assets, you can create a plan that ensures what you have goes to who you want. To get started, check our planning tool at www.bonifacechurch.org (search “wills preparation”) or contact Betsie Danner (941-349-5616 x318 or [email protected]).

B.E.S.T. GREEN TIP Let’s hope we can all make 2020 a year where we try to use at least one green tip each month. If you are wrapping presents try using the Sunday comics, or decorated brown paper bags. Colorful wrapping paper does not disintegrate well. Decorate the package with items from nature: dried seeds, flowers, grasses, berries, pinecone, shells. When drying clothes in a dryer, use woolen dryer balls. They are available at Publix. Happy New Year!

KEY CHORALE CONCERT, “American Roots Grassical” Saturday, January 11, 4:00 p.m. here at St. Boniface Church. The DePue Brothers Band joins the Chamber Singers in a genre-bending program from the hills of Appalachia to progressive bluegrass sounds of today. With Madison Spahn, guest vocalist. Tickets can be purchased at keychorale.org.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? A big thanks from all of us to our

church sound team: Mike Dougherty, Ray Droege, John Filkins,

Herman Ezzell, Bob Gregory, Herb Larrabee, Joel Pye, and Keith

Rollins. Hearing the spoken word is crucial to our worship, and

while our building is more friendly to music than speech, our

technology continues to improve. When we have a problem is it

usually a human error, or an FPL power blip. If you would like to

join us, please let me know. Ted Copland, Sound Team

Friday, February 21, 7:30 p.m.

Get your tickets today to hear award winning recording artist, Jeff Harnar, in a performance that will transport you to Broadway 1959, with a musical collage of 21 musicals. Tickets on sale at bonifacechurch.org/events, $30, and include a pre-concert lounge reception with complimentary hors d'oeuvres. It’s a show you won’t want to miss!

ALL FAITHS FOOD BANK With nearly 4 out of every 10 families in our community struggling with hunger, we give thanks for AFFB! They provide nourishing meals and healthy solutions. We can take part, too. Last year we gave over a

quarter of ton of food. Let’s make it a full ton this year! Look for the large barrels in the back of the church and in the Parish Hall. Then drop off your non-perishable goods (no glass containers, please). Particularly welcome are peanut butter & jelly; canned tuna, chicken or salmon; rice; beans of any kind; and shelf-stable milk.

SAVE THE DATE! For our 5th annual Rise Against Hunger event Saturday, March 7, 2020. Sign ups start in February. We will hit the 100,000 meal mark this year!

OF WHAT ARE WE STEWARDS? TIME! How we recognize and respond to God at work within us touches every part of our lives – family and friends, health, work and play … even financial.

January! A whole new year ahead of us, with all its possibilities, celebrations and to-do’s. Time seems to rush by, and we are called to be good stewards of this never-renewable resource. Before penciling anything in, ask yourself: Is this worthy of my time? Is it in line with God’s purposes and my values? Does it bring joy and lasting satisfaction? As we fill this year’s calendar, let’s do it committing ourselves to spending the gift of time on those things of enduring value. Then, we can look forward to a year filled with joy, balance and meaning.

Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity... Eph. 5:15-16
