Saint Charles Parish San Diego / Imperial Beach Page Two

THE LORD IS FAITHFUL In today’s second reading, Paul is writing to a community in need of encouragement. He tells them that God is faithful and that God will protect them from the power of the evil one. Those same words of comfort can be used today. Many people live in fear because of what they hear in the news. We can take comfort in knowing that God is always at work protecting us from that which would harm us. God will do God’s part to keep us safe but we have to do ours and that is have faith and let God work in us and through us to fulfill God’s will. – Fr. Emilio

From the Pastor

Daily Prayer For Priests O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests; For your unfaithful and tepid priests; For your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields. For your tempted priests; For your lonely and desolate priests; For your young priests; For your dying priests; For the souls of your priests in Purgatory. But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me: The priest who baptized me; The priests who absolved me from my sins; The priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; The priests who taught and instructed me; All the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially_________). O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart, And bless them abundantly in time and in Eternity. Amen By St. Therese of Lisieux Pray for Priests and Vocations “Now we ask you to respect those who work hard among you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.” (1 Thess. 5:12, 13, NIV) Daily Prayer for Vocations Jesus, Lord of the harvest, Look with love on this portion of your vineyard. Bless the Diocese of San Diego with more priests to shepherd your people, Priests with hearts like your own. Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.

Our Mission St. Charles is a Christ focused, diverse, family centered, Catholic community serving Imperial Beach and the South Bay. We believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and His saving grace received through the Sacraments. We believe in the Holy Catholic Church instituted by Jesus, the sanctity of life, the value of family, and lifelong Catholic education for all ages. We live to deepen our love of God, spread His Gospel and bring others to Christ. We are committed to a life of prayer, sacrifice, and service to those in need. With love, humility, and joyful obedience, we strive to be transformed and guided by the Holy Spirit until we are transformed in the eternal life of Heaven.
