Misas de Intención para la semana

Did you know? More on The Final Doxology Participation: The Eucharistic Prayer, as we have said, is presi-dential, that is, it is pronounced by the priest, but the congre-gation does not remain passive. In addition to listening to it carefully and joining in, it underlines with its answers, full of conviction, the various elements of prayer. Thus, after the praise given to the Father in the Preface, the people sing Ho-ly, Holy; after the memorial of Christ, he underlines it by say-ing “We proclaim your Death O Lord, and profess your Resur-rection until you come again ”or other formulas proposed by the Missal. One form of participation of the assembly that is also valuable is the sacred silence: “The Eucharistic Prayer demands that everyone listens to it with reverence and si-lence” (v. GIRM, 78), but it is not a passive or inactive silence, or of distraction, but a silence of prayer and contemplation. On this, the Second Vatican Council teaches us: “Therefore the Church, with care, tries to ensure that Christians do not attend this mystery as strange and mute spectators, but, un-derstanding it well through the rites and prayers, participat-ing consciously, piously and actively in the sacred action. Be instructed with the Word of God, strengthen yourself at the table of the Lord, be thankful to God, learn to offer yourself by offering the Immaculate Host, not only by the hands of the priest, but together with him, and be perfected day by day by Christ, mediator in union with God and with each other, so that God may finally be all in all ” (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 48).
